All, I have seen both colors up close. For the minimal($$) upgrade I would go Metallic. But, you really can not tell it is Metallic unless you are up close and it does give off a little different reflection as you saw the pictures in the shade.

It's stunning. Can't wait until it's parking in the garage under the bright lights(: With seeing these pictures I feel really good about my selection in color which is always hard with so many options.

I guess I'm in the minority. I like the non-metallic white better. Both are stunning, but I feel the metallic hue in some pictures makes it look more "luxurious" than "sporty". But I just happen to prefer non-metallic colors in general, so I guess it's just my taste.

I would gladly take either, but will stick with my white order.

Every is entitled to their opinion.
I wanted people to see the differences between the colors.
I do agree that pure white looks a bit more 'sporty'. I'm just a fan of the gray hues in CWM.

I think it's a great, subtle color. Love the gray tinge.

I got the standard white--and am totally happy (once it arrives!), but would certainly consider CWM for the next car.

It just provides a different vibe, and cool color for a little intrigue.

I have seen both colors in person and prefer the old Cararra White. The new Carrara White Metallic has too much of a blue hue for me.

Although I prefer them both to the new stark, snow-blindness White color offered! I guess that's why it's 'free'!

Metallic White seems pretty cool, but I thought I would mention that metallic colors are much harder to match, if you need to respray a bumper...

I'm with Fibredog. I think the regular white is sportier and pops more. I think the metallic takes on hues in the shadows which make it look like it's in the shadows--while the regular white still looks white. But the choice is close And I'd be happier with either To take it to the next level of insanity, I'd say the red calipers look better with the metallic white and the yellow calipers look better with the regular white!

Might be worth pointing out that "Carrara White" (as in picture of Spyder and on 997.1/2 GT3/RS) is different side by side to "White" on the 991 GT3 as I found out when parking two side by side at the race track last weekend. The 991 GT3 "White" has less yellow in it and really is a strong bright "appliance white" colour. Much more white than previous whites if you get my meaning.

One of the key reasons I went for a non metallic colour on my GT3 is ease of colour matching. A flat colour is very easy to get an invisible blend with compared to a metallic with a flip - especially if the flat colour is relatively new still (first 3 years or so before UV can change the pigment). Given my car is used for fast road and track (and already has plenty of small stone rash to show for it) I figured the flat colour was a bit of an insurance policy.

Otherwise the new metallic white looks like a good option for many and sure looks splendid in the shade...

Aha. That is very interesting. I was not aware of that. Hmmmm.... now I'm second guessing...

Yeah. Im sorry I didnt photograph it. I did take a few pictures of the car but nothing you can get reference from. The top picture is at the track, very overcast and dull day - somewhere in the distance you can see the white 997.2 GT3. The next pictures are in bright light (taken outside a grocery store LOL!) but again you can see the white is very "pure"? Side by side there is certainly a noticeable difference between the two flat whites - Carrara is more "creamy".
