Jamie. Interesting "track". One of the fastest Ive seen. Infact it looks like one of local back roads but smoother! My rotors and pads brakes might last forever there. Is the RS stock? He still seems to be pulling a few car lengths under hard acceleration....

I turn faster times on our other local track, The ridge, and it is 2.5miles, ORP is 2.3 miles. Top speed at the Ridge is 145-155 in a 991 GT3, top speed I got to at ORP was 125...
When you come out we'll head down and you can show me how easy it is...

Fair enough. Maybe Im wrong.
Here is our local track back in March. This lap is the track record for 991 GT3 in our group (like a private Chin group for Porsches only, 70 members). Unfortunately the sound is pants as the mic is picking up vibration through the cage.Car is 100% stock, pads, rotors, alignment, exhaust everything.
Its a short track (about to be extended by 1.2km). Its no where near our most technical track, my favorite track down in Taupo is 2.4 mile and far more demanding. Very technical. Hard on brakes and tyres. Many of our tracks are modeled on European and UK tracks.
Its typical of our tracks to have walls, big elevation changes and corners that ruin frequently from 150mph to 60mph like the track below.
Glad to hear there is plenty on the table against that GT3RS. I exect no less of teh DMS headers when I go RS hunting in 5 weeks time on our annual track tour at Taupo. Ill be sure to post a video then...

Here's my first ever track session in the GT3 and first time at this track. One of the oldest in the country (45 yrs) and one of the shortest - maybe 2.4km. Its not an overly technical track either but its alot of fun. When you really hook up here its a blast. Back again in November with the DMS headers so will throw up some footage when I do. A few more 991 GT3/GT4 to play with these days. The Gulf livery 964 "RSR" at the end is a repowered car with fiberglass body being driven by the past NZ Porsche Series champion and colleague Steve R. He had bigger ***** than me into the corner at the end of the straight (that corner goes 215kmph into 60km within a few hundred meters, you get into abs there. Most NZ tracks if you are driving them hard enough your will get into abs 1-2 times a lap. We have big speed deltas here which is why factory front rotors (using factory pads) last around 8 track days. Factory front pads around 6 for me (hence Ive gone to RT RE10 now and will try those out at the track in Nov).

My views are simple. The factory got it pretty right with the 991.1 GT3. There is little benefit in terms of lap times to be gained by changing the camber, perhaps better tyre shoulder longevity for the front tyres but the factory rubber has given its best by 28-30 cycles so there seems little real benefit overall. I've run stock geo then -2.0 all round then back to stock geo and last 6 track days -2.2 where I am currently. At the expense of road manners it seems fairly pointless IMO to go to -3.0 etc at the front. It just affects grip under braking (adversely) and compromises the road holding of the car (I drive it long distances between tracks with wife and luggage for 4-5 days to 12-14 at a time).
These are my personal views from a couple of years of using the car at the track. Others views may differ. RS and GT4 have quite different wear and challenges to GT3 in geometry department. GT3 is 99% good out of the box. RS is 85% good. GT4 is 65-70% good and needs many changes to improve grip, handling and restore acceptable tire longevity...

My first go at a local motorcycle track in Victoria, Australia. Quite a fun little circuit, flows nicely and good fun with the elevation changes. The only downside is that there aren't really any curbs to ride.

PCA OctoberFast at Daytona - first time
This is the first session from the weekend running the infield and the banking. OctoberFast is primarily a PCA club race weekend with a DE and Autocross events. This was my first time at Daytona and that was true of most of the DE drivers.
Unfortunately, toward the end of my second session I got an engine warning and reduced power error coming to the bus stop which ended my weekend. Porsche of Melbourne techs came in to check the car and get me back on track Saturday morning but the fault was caused by a bad coil pack which was not available locally. They even looked for a used one to get me through the weekend. Thanks to Ryan and Garrett at PoM for outstanding support. I wish I could have gotten the remaining 2 days to fine tune the lap times, but the track is great fun and very fast. I enjoyed the time I had on track and watching the club racing and cool hardware around the garages.
Inside view of beginning session. Lots of traffic which thins out later in the video.
3 laps using an overlay of Harry's LapTimer through an iPhone mounted to the windshield.
