Just an fyi, I saw 2 "returned" from the port GT3's at my dealer and both already have the Pilot sport cups 2 from the factory.

I actually hope mine does come with them. Mine is still not due until September as a 2014. Sitting someplace in the factory. Amazing they have not built the engines for the remaining 2014's at the factory.

There has not been a single car reported delivered with the Dunlops, all come with the PSC2.

I've run the Dunlops on a Cayman and 997. Great tire up to about 8/10ths, disintegrates fairly quickly above that. So, unfortunately, not a real track tire.

I guess that's why they don't fit them with the GT3s as initially planned. Good to know your experience because I was thinking of trying them at some point.

How much life you get out of the PSS? I was about to be switching to the PSC2 before reading this thread...

It took a little time for me to trust it, but once I did, I got to enjoy amazing wet performance and allow me to push the car further without worrying about losing grip or even the need for a correction in most cases. Since I have not been to the track I do not know if the car does the same thing when it looses grip on the dry, or this is just a wet trait thing. Just wondering ... The dry grip is so high that you really can't explore it in the street unless you want to go to jail. Mark
Not sure tires get credit here - sounds more like electronic intervention.

Don't know yet, haven't tried the PSS on this car but with a tread rating of 300 instead of 180, should get 3-4 days more, my guess.

Couple of bits of info for today. After being intially struck by tread block dept in the MPSC2's, I checked the specs on Tire Rack.

MPSC: 6/32's
MPSC2: 7.5/32's

More tread but not that much. Looks are deceiving.

I also did a bit of very unscientific wear checks on the two 458 Speciale's that ran this past weekend at Sonoma Raceway. Both showed almost no wear but neither was setting blistering lap times.

Bump. Just ordered a set today and will run them at Thunderhill on Thursday. My plan is to do lap time and wear compare vs. NT01 and MSCP. Here's hoping they're not the rubber equivalent of vaporware.

NT01 on what? Are you running the full 5 mile? I think the 5-mile track will be a little easier on the tires. R888 and Hoosiers are available for 19"s. I'm not interested in a 5 lug conversion, though.

NT01's on 18" OZ CL's on a 997.2 GT3. Pretty sure we are running regular course which I already have wear and lap time benchmarks.

Nice! If they are good, I might hold off on getting 18's and Hoosiers since I drive to the track.

I'll have a new set of sport cup 1's also so we can see side by side on wear characteristics.

Just got the 2's mounted and balanced. I had a set of RS3's on the stock wheels and compared them side by side. Rears are about .9" wider per tire; fronts are about .4" wider. Taking tread depth gauge with me to monitor wear. More Thurs.

Sam, "I'm your huckleberry."

I should have mine back later this week and will be running at Mid Ohio for an Audi DE on the 25th of this month.

I've got a brand new set of 19" Forgelines w/ Hoosiers just waiting to be tested. I plan on running the first morning w/ the OEM's to get my baseline. It's been what seems like an eternity and need to remember the car again.(Albeit, I'm modestly concerned the PS2's were about heat cycled out before all this crap happened w/ the engine swap?).

Not to get ahead of myself, but I'm concerned running Hoosiers on this car? From memory, this GT3 likes to be "slid" around certain turns and I've come to learn Hoosier's don't like to slide. (Watkins Glen, tire wall...) They grip and then don't grip.

Will keep you all posted.
