x-post from 997 GT3 forum.
Has anyone run them on track yet? Given the drought of NT-01's, I have limited choices to finish out the track season. I would love to know if these have the grip of the MSCP's and possibly better wear. If so, good short term solution.
Thanks

I did and they lasted about 5 track days. The fronts were wearing earlier than the rears, which is the usual case for the 991 and unlike all other previous generations. The rears had some tread left in them but not enough to just replace the fronts. I will plan on replacing the fronts after 3-4 track days then the whole set after a total of 6-8 days. Those are very hard track days, each was about 100-120 miles. The grip is great, superior to PSS but I never used the PSC before so I can't compare to those.

I have not tried these on the track yet, but for the past 2 days after I got my car back, it has been raining non-stop and I am very impressed with their wet grip. It is strange at first though as the grip starts going a little early but re-grips again on its own and before you get a chance to even correct it. It took a little time for me to trust it, but once I did, I got to enjoy amazing wet performance and allow me to push the car further without worrying about losing grip or even the need for a correction in most cases. Since I have not been to the track I do not know if the car does the same thing when it looses grip on the dry, or this is just a wet trait thing. Just wondering ... The dry grip is so high that you really can't explore it in the street unless you want to go to jail. Mark

I had two tracks already. First with the OEM ie Michelin which I did not like. I tried last week the Pirelli at Trofeo R and they are much better. We were 5 friends with the new Gt3 and all agreed that the front Michelin were wearing two fast and one of them had to replace the front for the 2nd day. Now all of them ordered the Pirelli and one reason I was 3s faster...

At the track today, saw a set of MSCP2's on a 458 Speciale. Tread blocks look 2x as thick as the MSCP's. Treadwear rating is 180! Very intriguing.

The Trofer Rs are a softer compound than the PSC2 with a lower tread wear rating (is it 60?). I am not surprised it was faster but I would be very surprised if it lasts as long s the PSC2.

On my 997.2 RS the Trofeo Rs last about the same as the OEM Sport Cups (not Sport Cups 2, have no experience with those) which is about 5 track days. Grip is better on the Trofeos for sure - not a huge difference, but probably 1.5-2.0s on a 2 mile track.
Most importantly, the Trofeos are a good $600/set cheaper than the OEMs!

Ah, in the 997 they are definitely cheaper. If I were you, I'd go through 2-3 sets of the OEM tire to get a really good feel for it (and the car) before you swap it out, particularly if you are not saving money by changing. For me it was a no brainer due to cost savings, relatively similar wear, and better grip.
However, as soon as these Trofeos are worn out, I'm going to Hoosiers since I bought a trailer
