I was talking about the GT3 RSR engine. Not the 919.

I was talking about the 919, which as I'm sure you know does not run the Mezger, but runs a turbo V4 with energy recovery nonsense attached to it. The RS Spyder ran a normally aspirated 90 degree V8. The Mezger is run in the GT race cars because Porsche wants to run that configuration for marketing reasons. I don't doubt they will figure out how to make the 9A1 durable and run that in the GT race cars as well... also for marketing reasons.

Sorry about that Carlo. The 919 is very interesting. Think the technology is very cool. The technology transfer from LMPs to the street is why there's increased interest in Le Mans from the manufacturers

well if you took delivery in 2 months i wouldnt think there would be any "replacement" necessary as it would be built after the problem was fixed, or not at all?

No.

There are 100's of cars not delivered to dealers but still in Germany, build completed *after* the stop sale.

ok well maybe so, but those are cars that would have been scheduled to have been delivered "already" or very soon.

if someone was supposed to take delivery in 2 months as, as per the op's thread, surely THAT car isnt built yet??? therefore it wouldnt be built until the issue is sorted, (i would hope!!)

otherwise, are you saying a car sits completely built and finished for 2 months in germany before it is delivered to the customer?

for example my delivery was supposed to be may 2nd. are you saying theres a chance my car is already built?

i dont think you are... but anyway.

My car was supposed to be an April built / May delivery... which had been pushed back from Mar built / Apr delivery already... and no the car is not built yet. Actually the OPC wanted me to lock the configuration more than a month ago but when the issues became apparent magically there was no need anymore.. and I still havent finalised it as the production is halted and nothing is happening.

All I know is they came back with a no to my Voodoo blue PTS request. Not sure why.. need to enquire but I am so mad with them about this whole mess that cant be bothered to call.

The original post is based on the assumption that the current rumor is accurate: all produced 991 GT 3s will receive an updated Motor. This will take months for the engine swaps to be completed. My car has been sitting at the Port of emden for a month already while Porsche tried to sort this mess out. Presently, there is no end in sight.

There will be no downside to your situation - given the latest news. I wouldn't worry.

I'll trade you. My built, sitting at port GT3 for your May/June/July/August build. I'd much prefer a delayed build than a car sitting at port for over 3 months.

That goes for anyone not wanting to wait, I'll trade you. I think that is possibly the best seat to be in IMO.

when is your delivery date? maybe it will wind up being before mine? i would think it should, if your car has already been sitting for 3 months.

mind you i dont think these delivery dates are written in stone. lol.

Initially it was early Jan, I'd have to dig for the exact date. So many changes, I lost track
