PAG gives the dealers a whole set up on paperwork what was done and what they need to do. Hope that helps.
It does help. Thanks!

You bet. I just looked at my records and was going to post the dealer checkout list but it does not say anything other than the dealer installed the motor per per the PAG bulletin. But again they pulled out the special tech instructions for the dealers and showed me first hand. I was also very concerned and bummed that I would have to break in another motor. And they said, nope you're good to go. I think the extra 100 miles is just to play it safe for leaks etc. After they got the car from the port, the dealer has put 25 miles on it, racks it, then is supposed to check for any leaks etc. Then they just want the customer to keep it under 7k for the first 100 miles. FYI you will all be getting a supplement manual which just says the stuff about the blue light where you can't rev the motor past 7K before it warms up. It's solid man I'm telling you. I took an early delivery 1-15-14 and was in the top 15 in the US to get my motor swapped this early so I wish you guys all the luck. I was nervous for the past four months and now its all good. Keep the faith. You guys will be re-borne again. Trust me! I let my friend drive it today which had a March delivery and pushed back now to Nov. He was blown away by the shifting. He was considering a 650S or a 12c. He said the turbos in those things are crazy and there is nothing like raw naturally aspirated cars and he also said the PDK shifts WAY faster than the McLaren. I have never driven one, nut he just spent 1 hour in a 12 c and 650C and is a pretty hard core car guy. So for those of you that don't have yours yet, he was freaking blown away by the GT3. Hang on man, hang on!

It is mandated that your dealer tech drives your car for 25 miles under 7K RPM- varying the throttle - no exceptions. Germany broke in the motor on the dyno after they built it- so THANK GOD I don't have to break in another motor. They won't even call you until all that is done (meaning the dealer drives your car for 25 miles and completely checks the car out- they are super **** as they can't afford any more mistakes). The dealer let me go back in the service department and they put in on a rack. I looked all over, it was like it was brand new, like nothing was ever touched. And I am ****, I mean ****. I was underneath the motor while on the rack for 20 mins. All perfect. Then the dealer gives you instructions to keep the car under 7K rpm for the next 100 miles. Also, before the engine warms up to 140 F (operating temp is about 190F or so pending how hard you drive it and outside temp) or so -there is a blue light in the LED display so you can't rev the car to 9K- it limits it to 7K rpm until the blue light goes out. ECU Upgrade. It is a precaution. This lasts for about 40 seconds. But if you own a GT3 your not going to rev a cold motor anyway. Also I got the new engine VIN and certificate. Also, Mary Ann said I will get an email and letter in about 2 weeks with the paperwork to sign for my $$. I put 8,000 miles on 2 C2S cars that were brand new. So they are going to pay me 8k for the comp. package, the motor I was told is about 75K to build, I devalued their loaners probably 20K if not more, then labor at what 5K? So it cost PAG about 108K! No profit in the 2014 cars for PAG! I am happy. Once it clicked 100 miles today I took 'er up to 9,000 rpm and BANG! Shifted change in the blink of an eye. Superb!
sginsburg, excellent write up. Thank you so much for the feed back. My car was also returned back to my Porsche delear yesterday (Friday), and was hoping to get it back on the same day, so I can enjoy it during this weekend, but unfortunately Porsche placed a hold on it until the new engines stickers are received. I was told they are being Fed ex'd and I am hoping to get the car back on Monday or Tuesday.
Did you delear receive your car along with the stickers from the port, or did PAG mailed them directly to the delearship? Just curious.

Again thanks for the excellent write up and I am looking forward to receiving my car hopefully in the next day or so. Mark

I came away from the dealer totally content the motor was broken in by all the paperwork they showed me. I saw with my own eyes the instructions telling the dealers to tell the customers to drive the car for only 100 miles under 7k. I read this in black and white! You can call Porsche of San Diego Larry Suarez. He showed me everything that the port and PAG sent his techs. It makes no sense when I saw the letter to the tech to keep it under 7k for 100 miles when the manual says 4500 rpm up to 2000 miles. We r good to go!
This is so awesome to see, thanks for posting! I am dying to go to the track and it is closed for motorcycle events the next two weekends. The only near day I can go is this coming Thursday and I thought I'd miss it as the car would need a little breaking in. If they get the stickers on it by Wednesday, Ill drive 30-40 miles under 7,000 that night then go to track Thursday (70 mile trip, and I plan on changing speeds and gears all the way there). Thanks again.

Be curious if someone could confirm the info on break in from another source just for comforts sake. This is pretty good news from sginsburg. I hope my factory engine swap is the same as a dealer/port engine swap.

I got lucky. The port put all my new VIN numbers on. They don't change the door jam- main one. There is one on the engine lid and one or two inside the door jams towards the front. My VIN for the engine was already updated in the unified PCNA database. My extra warrenty was not updated but it's on my paperwork. It should be updated soon.

I'd be shocked if you guys have any other break in period. I saw the port instructions. The port told the dealers they're not chancing it and breaking in all motors on the dyno just like race motors. Have faith brothers and sisters. I'm like all you guys. Want it done right. That was my biggest concern. Break in. Having to drive slow ALL over again. Was so stoked to find out I did not. AGAIN I did NOT just pick up my car. I was back in the shop who got the directions from PAG on what to do with the car I was back there talking to them for 30 min.

If sginsburg saw it in writing that is good enough for me. We were all aware that they we testing each engine extensively in Germany. I am hooked again and want my GT3

sginsburg - did you notice any thing different about the way the engine sounds ect or is it the same as the first engine?

Warning about tracking your car soon after replacement engine. Phil on RT tracked his car and a pebble hit his radiator causing a leak which now needs to be replaced. Porsche will do it under warranty. Apparently the protective screen was not sent to the dealer for installation. It was on its way.

Be sure that the screen is part of the replacement engine procedure before tracking your car.

I noticed nothing different. Exactly the same. But I have also not driven the car for 4 months. Is freaking scary fast and as awesome as I can recall.

What do you guys think about the sharwerks straight pipe third muffler replacement to make it louder? Good, bad? 1,500 bucks US.

Unreal. I had the pleasure to go and hear it at the dealership where one of the Members here gave me permission to rev it a bit. But, you can hear the car about 1/2 mile away so it all depends if you like a much louder experience.

I do

Did they install the screen protector for your radiator?

No screen protector to my knowledge it looks the same. They don't touch the car except pull the rear wheels off, the rear bumper and drop the motor. And NOPE not ONE scratch on my center locks. Those are 400 bucks a pop!

Anyone heard in real life the Sharwerks comparison on the straight pipe to replace the third muffler? The video is terrible and you can't tell.

Thanks! If you think the factory exhaust is not loud or aggressive enough you may want to consider the sharkwerks. Was your car the first delivered to Porsche SD?
