I bought a brand new Z06... right away it consumed a quart of oil every 300-400 miles. I was told that the rings needed to seat, and it would stop. It never stopped.

I complained to Chevy. They offered nothing. I went after them under the Lemon Law. They got off through a loophole. I even had a conversation with a Chevy exec that I saw at the SEMA Show. He basically told me to go F myself.

After 10,000 miles on the odometer, and still having to add oil every few hundred miles, I sold the car and swore I'd NEVER buy another GM product again.

That's when I converted over to Porsche. Best decision I ever made. I've been living happily ever after.

PS -- At least Porsche RECOGNIZES when they have a problem, and take decisive, corrective action. That's way more than can be said for GM.

Looks like #6 could be the culprit. Allan

I may be wronghere but it seems like #6 is on the outside of the box and if that's the case why engine removal?

I have no mechanical or engineering abilities to see a diagram in a different orientation from reality and know what are we talking about but I'll take a stab at it (will likely be wrong); the bracket that was pointed out to me, I think, is # 25 or 26. If someone believes it not to be a bracket, I'll believe you. It was a big rectangular piece that was pointed out to me.

Hard to tell whether these brackets are readily accessible. The #8 retaining bracket oil tube transmission appears more embedded and may required a lot more work to get at.

Just thinking outside the square here...

Maybe Porsche should throw a cooler, a couple inch thick porterhouse steaks and some tongs into the frunk as a delivery gift? That way if you get caught on the side of the road, well alight, you certainly won't go hungry!

Jokes aside, they need to give some clarification asap and get things sorted and on track quick smart... Feel for those with pending deliveries....

Yeah I say this in jest as I had a zo6 that dropped a valve and grenaded on the track.

I'm just waiting patiently for accurate information from Porsche. Went to pick up car 1/28 (dealer owed clear side markers and snow storm!, left it there), went back 2/7 (can't get it, thermostat recall), went back 2/12 (can't get it, stop sale) ... talk about being teased. I own it but can't have it!!

Many GT3s will need an engine change. Issues with the connecting rod bearing, it melts, symptom is some rattling noise.
