For 330k USD, I'd rather buy a Ferrari 458 Speciale.

For roughly $155K USD (the price of a GT3 in the US), you could have a beautifully standard Honda Accord here

Hey Bill. Hope all is well. Im guessing from your signature you are still loving the 7.2 experience and hanging now for the RS.

I was offered a few weeks ago by the guys who supplied my GT3 a very early build RHD RS allocation. I have been told Production will start July/Aug with RHD probably Sept/Oct (similar to what I was told about the GT3!)

What I omitted from the above post is that I have turned down that opportunity. I am more than happy with my current GT3 (now half way through a 6 week voyage to NZ). Apart from the fact I couldnt justify the increase in pricing I believe the 991 GT3 is the perfect compromise in terms of real world handling for our NZ backroads. Given my car will see more fast backroad driving than track work (as I will be sharing track time with the 993 I see onoy 3-4 full track days a year for the GT3) I think the GT3 is just right. Harder, firmer, faster is not going to work so well for my lifestyle - I do want to use the car as my DD when im in NZ from time to time too. The RS will be a great car and Im 100% certain the styling will be very attractive/desirable (and it will be a special car alright) but the 991 GT3 is plenty enough for me and Im very happy with my choice to date....

I think it is proper pricing if you live there. Your salaries may be directly proportional to the cost of one here to the states.

Average household/individual income is very low in the US.

Actually, I've found the opposite experience. When I first relocated to the US (From Sydney to NYC), my salary more than doubled. I'm probably still earning at least 2x what I would in Australia right now. That's at least what I found in the finance industry.

My wife works in IT, and her salary here vs Australia is roughly the same.

Curious to gauge as a reference (as I live In Australia). What would a graduate from university earn with a Business Degree, say you worked for one of the big 4 accounting firms? For us Aussies, it would be anywhere from 50-65k AUD

Most likely in the same range in the larger cities (i.e. NYC and LA). Depends on what part of the Big 4 you are working in (tax, audit, etc.) but roughly in that range in USD.

I just put down a deposit for my GT3 in China which cost around 2.5 million RMB (about $412,310 USD) excluding some other random tax. I love this car, but then m3 would cost more than 1 million and 458 more than 4 million.

Dude. I think you have Australia mixed up with somehwere else. The wages in the USA for similar job would be higher and the cars are 2x+ cheaper! Property and cost of living in USA much lower too. America is still the promised land even after some guys tried to stuff it up...

Yeah, I did a search and realized the article I referenced says Australian median wealth is 4x of USA not median income.

Start at $60-$70k. $70 would be the more expensive cities. North of that in sfo and NYC. A premium for those cities vs Dallas as an example.
