Hi Mate. Yeah the AUD has been a dog these last 3-4 months. Cant say what the final cost for a new GT3 would be for you today but suffice to say considerably cheaper than you are paying in Oz. PM me and we can talk offline..

Generally such high prices are the result of taxes/ import duties. That would be too much for me. Would look to used 7.1 gt3 maybe. I had a posting in OZ in the 90s. looked at a 911 and ended up with a Ford Escort! (Had mazda running gear I think.) Malaysia was similar- duty was 198%. I did buy a Cayman there. Think they imported one gt3rs 4.0. Had to be way north of 1M ringget. Most in the US don't know how good we have it on car prices.

Yep, us prices are the best… IF they introduce the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership soon, then even more people in Germany will reimport the cars (some already do that actually)… I think it is kind of strange that for the GT3 the MSRP in the US is $ 130k and we got to pay a basic price of 137k € over here in Germany !? … Even if you work at the factory for 30 years you don't get these cars at these prices… and no, we don't have to pay luxury taxes on cars, just the normal 19% VAT … kind of strange xD … but well, one reason why Porsche/VW etc are so "healthy" xD
PS: and the US cars actually got more equipment as standard (like sat nav, which is a 3150€ opt etc) xD

I'm an Australian that lives in the US and have for the past 7 years or so. The cost of ownership (insurance/maintenance etc) is all ridiculously low here.
Still no GT3, though I have a deposit holding a MY2015 allocation and look forward to enjoying it while here.
It's a shame the cost to switch to RHD is so prohibitive, or I would look at bringing it back to Australia with me.

I would gladly pay $400K for a GT3. After options and taxes and everything in Singapore, a GT3 is north of $800K.

I wouldn't pay $3-400K USD for a GT3 assuming it was the only car at that kind of inflated price. The problem, I'm guessing, is that the prices for GT3 alternatives would be similarly inflated where you guys are. Those kind of prices would put a crimp in my car buying habits, especially from the wife's perspective.
