Default Placed order for MY2015 GT3

Hi Folks,

Just placed my order/deposit for a MY2015 GT3 for delivery in Q4. Like many folks, I could not stomach paying $5-25K over list or deal with cars that are overloaded with options I don't want on the car. Have to commit final build in June and the long wait begins...

You mean deposit, not order. Just holding a spot in line.

I'm in same boat (q4 build, june order), I am wondering if there will be any changes to 2015 model besides the increase in factory MSRP of approx 2% (so I am told to expect)

No allocation until at least April. Won't be built until at least July most probably. Keep your fingers crossed. That's assuming they will get an allocation to be built this year.

Terrence is right. I'm on this boat as well but I knew this while placing the deposit. Hoping for delivery in early spring '15. By this time I am hopeful for a bucket seat option.

I think, per DOT regulations, you will get a reverse camera. But according to another thread, that actually makes it a GT2.9 as a result.

Previously Porsche added some cost options while raising the price the same amount. Of course with VW at the helm, this could change. Price increase, maybe. I would expect buckets as an option at least.

To OP (Cingulus): I have a Q3 build (MY2015 as well) My dealer has proof of the allocation (showed me) from Porsche, I just cannot spec it yet. They expect Feb or later depending on the build date. Assuming your dealer gets another allocation, as they say, your build date could be June to the end of Aug. I hope for the best, however, have heard dealers already have most of the 2014 calendar year allocations. Yes, a few have popped up here and there but this has always been the case.

Feel free to correct any mis-information.

The backup camera rule (while funny) might actually come into play. The DOT has delayed the issuance of the final guidelines for years now. As of 9/2013, they said they would have a final ruling by 1/2015.

Understand the difference between having a slot and confirmation, but this is the first step.

It sounds as if many have put deposits down and are feeling like they will never really get a car? Every Porsche I have ordered I have never had an issue with getting it delivered, yes a couple had production delays of a couple weeks but nothing crazy. My dealer confirmed a valid allocation for me on my GT3 from the factory and I suppose depending on dealer they could take multiple deposits on each allocated car in case of back outs. My dealer has already gone down this list of deposits twice on cars that were spec'd and built then backed out and someone down the line picked it up if it was close to there wanted specs. My dealer's opinion is they take one deposit for one allocated unit and if someone drops out we would move up the order line. They also dont believe they will have a problem finding a home for a GT3 if one of us backs out of our car (however you will loose out on your 10% deposit if your car is spec'd and locked and you back out).

I came across this one today, asking $177,500 USD. Great photos:

@FastLaneTurbo -- Are those listings accurate? Last week, one of those sites showed one at Auto Gallery for MSRP...but it was actually at 25k over if you called or walked in...

Great photos, not worth the 177,500...they are trying to make a lot of money off this one. But the pictures made my choice of going for white.
