Default build schedule progress

Hello all, I have searched, and find nothing on this. If someone has a commission number, is there a way ( outside of calling the dealer) to follow the progress or lack of on a car being built?

My wife ordered a Jeep 10th anniversary, and she was given a link that allowed her to see progress. She also received emails at important stages of progress.

Is something like that available for the GT3 or any other Porsche?

Thank you

Rich

Unfortunately, no. The only way is through your dealer (that I'm aware of).

It would be nice if Porsche offered something like Jeep apparently does, but 0Q991 is right....

Well, thanks for the replies. Maybe it is better, or I would probably check several times a day.
My dealer has kept me fairly well informed, and I guess he will continue to call as things develop. Maybe I will try to forget about it until it arrives.

Thank you

Rich

Rich, at the very least your dealer can provide you with a tracking list that shows all of the relevant projected dates; when the order is scheduled to be locked, when the car is supposed to be built, shipped to port, leave Germany, arrive at port of entry, clear customs, arrive at dealer....ask him for that. You can then get updates of that list as steps are completed or when something changes.

^^ They can see when/if it's cleared customs? Mine arrived at port a week ago, best I hear is "the wait is worth it". My patience is wearing thin.

My understanding is it is the dealer and not Porsche that must initiate status inquiries regarding changes. If a change occurs in the building process of the car, Porsche does not notify the dealer. It records it in the system and the dealer must periodically check at what stage the car is in or if there are delays.

Sorry, my bad, not customs. But they should be able to check the computer and tell you when the car has completed it's PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and when it has been released for transport. In between those two events, there is no additional tracking that I know of.
