Varying load and gears is also important. I would not stay on a highway for hours. Drive through some rest stops, get off the highway for a bit and go through some gears. DO NOT USE CRUISE! Keep in mind all parts need some break in, not just the engine. US manual suggests 4200 rpm ceiling, RoW indicates otherwise (Common sense says you can briefly exceed 4200 as it reads as a recommendation in the manual). That said, I personally would not listen to speculation from the internet as to what rpm ranges are best; buyer beware.

Do you have to go to the dealer after the break in to reprogram the DME (not sure I'm using the correct term)?
