Nick I recall you stating that red should be avoided cause its reserved for Ferrari?

You either changed your mind or are becoming more polite as you age. LOL.

Mike a big congrats? I too have been watching behind the scenes and eagerly anticipating your delivery.

Are we going to see you out at Sonoma Raceway this season?

Kind of mundane, but coming from sport buckets the adaptive sport seats are better than I expected. The car has better low end torque and response than I anticipated from looking at the relatively peaky power curve. During break-in I'm really keeping the revs down, especially at first, so I've been getting a good sample of what it's like to drive the car shifting short. But it pulls really well; I'm sure the shorter gearing helps. After all of the talk about the steering I was concerned that it would feel lighter or less full of feel than it should. But it's excellent.

I expect there will be more surprises as I break the thing in and really start to drive it.

Yes, it does blip on downshifts, but at lower revs and lighter throttle openings they are relatively subtle. As I start to push the car harder they will become much more obvious, I expect....

There is no PSE option on the GT3 but they all come with a button that opens a bypass in the exhaust that produces more sound and also slightly more midrange torque.

First, congratulation on your new car, it is gorgeous. As regarding to blips on downshifts, I believe it will behave similar to the regular PDK in sports mode that if you are in auto mode and brake aggressively, it will downshift and blip significantly.

You are so right! I still believe red is for Ferrari and white is for Porsche. Having said that, the GR on the 991GT3 really stands out and is a good color for it. Also, it may be because I have seen so many white GT3's (which I ordered) it is refreshing to see the car in another attractive color. Or it may be I am just getting old.

Wow. What a beautiful car. Your pictures remind me of when I brought home my 997.2 GT3 in Guards Red--flawless. Mine now is littered with track rash on the front and rear rock guards. Seeing yours kind of makes me want to get another someday just for street driving. Sure, lots of things I want. Thanks for the new screen savers for my work computer. Everyone thinks it's mine!

Mike awesome car awesome pic awesome write-up just awesome!
I have GT3 on order just like yours but decided to go with black rims.
Did you give them a thought and what was your reasoning to go with the grey?
I say this cause I am not sure about my decision and what to hear your point of view! Thanks, oh and tell your wife that Valentines day is coming and Vbox along with a kiss would be nice!!

Thanks Nick. I really didn't consider black wheels. From a purely subject POV, I just prefer a different look. In the case of the GT3 wheels in particular, they are just gorgeous as is and fit the car perfectly, IMHO, so I wouldn't want to mess with them. Of course, YMMV.

So along the lines of the "worth the wait" statement..

what would you guys do, I have an order in that gets locked down in the next day or so. Its a first week of May delivery

I have another dealer calling me back offering a car that the buyer fell through. its in stock and ready for delivery. not a perfect configuration but 70% there.

do I wait ? do I take it now and have it for track season starting in Feb?!?!
