I haven't received mine yet but here is how I see it. I kind of liked making phone calls using the rotary phones. I really do but the push button phone is what I have gotten used to now and its faster too. I guess I can go back and buy a rotary phone but then again thats going back in time. It be cool though. Its a complicated question and different for everyone. I will try to hold on to my rotary GT3 but I might let it go depending on the fun factor from the new GT3.

No. Not on this car. I prefer a manual trans, but they got this car dialed in. It's the total package...sport/manual mode is very entertaining.
That said, I will never drive this car in auto/non sport mode. That is quite lame.

Havent and wont miss the manual.
As lumber said this cars drivetrain package is as perfect as it gets, prefer it to the 458 and MP4-12C...somehow its more analog. Does make the car more accessible to all and sundry, and its better for it imho. Puts a smile on your face when you go up or down the gears. Ive enjoyed driving this car more than the .2 which did surprise me. Ok, just a couple hundred miles but everything Andreas Preuninger said in the making of the car has come through in how it drives. Got to give credit where its due.
My 0.02c manuals are going the way of the dinosaur and feels like this car is a nice step forward

Haven't driven the 991 GT3, I'm sure it is an amazing car. But I do prefer to row through the gears as mine is not a daily driver and do like the involvement that comes with a manual car. I think I'll stick to a 6 speed...

If they had "ruined" the GT3, it would have been a total embarrassment to them and they would have suffered in ways. ...most potential customers would just buy some other latest and greatest from other marque and move on.
If you have to have a manual, remember there are over 50 years of these great cars to choose from!

Love hearing from new owners reviews; especially ones who have 997 GT3/RS's. Keep them coming...I think I've made up my mind....resistance is futile & I've got to add one to my garage.

The true test will be how owners feel about the car six months from now.
I know a few people who sold GT3/RS for F Scuderia, then went back to GT3 because they were bored with the paddles. Let's see how folks who have owned both 997 & 991 GT3's feel in a few months.

Say in a yr or two the new 991 owner misses the stick involvement. What other choices is there assuming other mfg's keep making same garbage like the Z07 that we just saw. Its not like you can go back and get a 991 stick Good opportunity for other mfg to complete at this price level and I don't mean $380K

I would go back to an r8 if I wanted a good manual trans. You will always be able to satisfy the urge to shift your own gears.
The new gt3 does not feel like a Nissan gtr. It feels mp4 like. Which is acceptable to me.
