Alexio, if you only keeping the car for one yr why would you add all these extras? Just get the base $130K and sell it for very close to that at the yr end. I think as you add more options the losses will add up. Something to think about. If you keeping the car for longer time its a diff story.

Thanks for the advice.. You're probably right... Options just aren't worth it in resale right? it's not that I don't think I'll love this car enough to keep it, just that I can't figure out where I'd use something this fast even on a weekend basis.. And if were to really start doing track days like I did on bikes.. Then better to get a stripper and not a heavy expensive road car. I hope my lock date comes soon so I can make a decision and stop boring myself and others with total decision paralysis.

I love how Porsche calls it "full leather" yet it is mostly alcantara
Leather on top of dash and door panel (with stitching to make one feel they got something special), then lots of fake suede on most of dash and door panels.

Is it in keeping with the soul of the car to have the full leather option? The car is really kind of a hard core "track" car. Certainly not supposed to be luxurious at all. However I also think of it as a competitor of the Ferrari 458. The leather and stitching in that car is beautiful. I personally like the full leather in the GT3. However I am not a fan of the leather covered vents, mirrors and other do-dads.

As specced now, my car has it.
While I agree with the consensus that "full leather" looks better in pictures when new, I would suggest that you have a look at a worn "full leather" interior from a 997 GT3 before making up your mind. Pay particularly attention to the shifter as that gets the most wear and will give you a preview of the future. I don't think alcantara fabric looks good when worn but it is the contrasts in color and texture between worn spots and unworn spots that is the greater problem.

Shifter would stay almost untouched on 991 gt3.. And I think that it comes in alcantara anyway regardless of leather order option.

Wheel in Alcantara as standard, with leather as a no cost option (Option 840, I believe).

Avoid Post Order Leather Envy Depression.. When I added the Dash Interior for 1700 I saw it added deviated stitching which is very cool.. You can only see in the 3D Configurator in IE. Then I saw it on a Turbo at the LA auto show and thought it was awesome.. e.g. Would have been depressed if I hadn't ordered it after seeing it.

Yes, It's the White Painted Interior, PCM, and Console.. I went for it.. LOL.. After sitting in some turbos, w/ Carbon Fiber .. It seemed to dark.. Being a GT3 it's a FUN car and thought I could get away with it in a social context.. Ha Ha.. Really I dont care. and just think it looks cool. -- BTW. this awesome Launch video has it in real life.. if you look close towards the bottom of the screen. Look better in real I think. so I was right as usual.. HaHa.. Of course you might get laughed at when you go to the track with all this pimp gear, but just blow them away with driving skills..

That car in the image is with optional painted finish--interior trim, center console, PCM surround, and AC vents.

With the Leather Interior, interior trim and center console are aluminum finish. PCM and AC vents are black plastic.

My advice is to use the "3D" configurator on the website--shows a great amount of detail.

my original order was without the dash in leather but changed it. Melisa from Porsche highly recommended that it should be order because:
1. I gives it a complete high end detail finish look from the inside.
2. Since the dash is so long, it is the first thing you look at when trying to look into the car. On a vertical viewing point, the dash is 50% of your windshield. I then walked outside an checked out two TT and she was right. The one with the stitching really popped. IMHO it may add 2 more HP.

"Collective wisdom? Pass up on the leather option shown in the first photo below. Too restrictive. Besides, it's not available with deviating stitching! Hold on.....I think I am in the wrong 'full leather' forum again!!!! Never mind. "

That was funny!

One thing I wish I would have added was the FREE SMOKERS PACKAGE..Esp for those in CO. It adds a little cover to the empty container at the rear end of the console. -- some might like the container as a change holder.
