This is a '97 Cab that I've owned for 14 years. I'm pretty sure it's Signal Green, but have wondered as to the differences in Viper Green and any other PTS greens, as well. Eduardo, your expertise would be appreciated.

Looks great, G & S! There should be a color code sticker somewhere
on the body of the car. Hope you can find it & report it back to us.

By 1997, 'Signal Green' was no longer a 'standard' color offering on
the 911. So yours could have been a PTS custom order since 'Signal
Green' was offered as 'Standard' for MY1991, MY1992, MY1993 & folks
still remembered the color well a few years later. The 'Signal Green' for
that early 90's period was formulated as color code 22S, which is exactly
the color code for the 'Signal Green' currently approved for PTS at Porsche!

The original code for 'Signal Green' in the early 70's 911 was 217.
Here is the photo I took of various 'Greens' at the Customer Center
at Zuffenhausen in 2013. 'Viper' looks a little different. And so does
'Signal Green' color code W25. The set does not include 'Signal Green'
22S, so the color analyses is not complete*. But I hope it helps give
you a visual idea of the subtle distinctions in these bright green colors!

*I still can not confirm if the color formulation for 'Signal Green'
22S is exactly the same as 217. I do believe that 217 is the same
color as the original Porsche formulation for 'Signal Green', which
had the code # 6829. We still don't know why some color codes
are kept to the present (e.g. 'Signal Yellow, color code 114)

while other historic/vintage Porsche colors (like 'Signal Green') are
given new color codes when re-introduced at a later time in series
production or currently approved for PTS after a feasibility study.

One more thing to ask when (if) I ever get to meet the folks that
decide on PTS at PAG (which unfortunately is not within the purview
of my many friends at 'Porsche Exclusive' in Germany
).

Sorry, G & S, but I can't figure out your color code from that!
That mostly tells you the normal content options on the car.
And '98' is probably referring to the fact the paint is a 'Solid/
Uni' color!

Is there anything like this anywhere else on that chassis?

997 models had the color code on a tag inside the gas cap...

And 991 models have theirs on a sticker which is applied normally
under the hood or attached to your 'Warranty' book in glovebox:
