So the cquartz/opticoat lasts 1-2 years. Clear bra for me lasts 4-5 years. I am worried about the re-application on the non clear bra'd areas after 1-2 yrs. Will it create a thickness difference between the clear bra'd and non clear bra'd areas once the clear bra is removed? maybe the right thing to do is re-clear bra everytime you recoat with cquartz/opticoat?

No disrespect intended, but why put anything underneath the clear bra? I know with some clear bras in the past, the installer didn't even want wax there. If it was there any wax it was removed as part of prep. Do you think the depth is richened by doing this; seriously, just asking. I can certainly see coating over the top of the clear bra as this would ease the removal of any road debris. Clear bras should be waxed anyway.
I have never been a fan of any liquid applications other than a high quality wax, but you have my interest.

Ive never heard of someone not wanting wax under a bra...all of my cars went through a thorough wash and wax pre bra...but thats just me. Anyone else hear different?

Premier films who did my car advised me not to put wax or any coatings right before the installation as it could prevent the film from adhering properly.

Yes true. My car didn't need much correction since most of it is covered by film.
The Cquartz coating is negligibly thin compared to a clear bra. When my detailer measured it with paint thickness meter thingy it was less than the 10th of the film if my memory serves me right (don't remember the absolute figures but it added < 10 microns vs 100 microns for the film if I was to hazard a guess). Also they wear off with time/wash, so I wouldn't worry about any thickness difference.

Forgot about the timing aspect. I have always had the car detailed a week prior to clear bra installation.

Thats not agate grey. its brown metallic. A lot of folks say that they don't like agate because of brown undertones. Maybe its because they are referring to this picture as it was one of the first photos available that match the agate.
