Your thoughts on Break In Period for GT3's

Most of you guys won't even keep the GT3 past warranty, so why would you worry about break-in? Look at the used GT3 market, most of them have less than 10k miles on them.
I plan to daily my GT3 so I'll drive gently (vary speed) until the first oil change at 1,500mi. It's not about breaking-in the engine, the clutch packs (DCT or Manual) and gears need time to wear in properly. Same goes with brakes, they take time to bed.

I plan to keep my GT3 "forever". It will spend 80% of it's life on the track. BUT, 100% of the first 1,500 miles will be spent on the street following a gently progressive break-in. I believe doing so will decrease chances of failures when I do start driving it on the track.

first 2000 miles, not 1500... if you want to go by the book.

The engine is like your heart, your knees, you shoulders, your body.
Try to run sprints without warming up and you will figure out soon enough that it can result to injuries. Nobody says you can't do it, but everyone is telling you warm up your muscles and bring your hear beat slowly up before you go at it like a maniac. It's safety mechanism that is there for the sake of not blowing up body parts.
I read that the warranty, if something happens during brake-in, will cover it and that is true. But issues with the engine's seals, gaskets and such, come up much later than the warranty lasts for.
I will use the same analogy with the human body. When you're young and you are going out to run with temperatures bellow 32 degrees only wearing your hat on shorts and t-shirts, you don't mind and you don't feel any joint pain. But once you reach your 40's and 50's its payback time. Remember those days that you put so much stress on your body because of the cold weather and you thought you look cool running outside in short and short sleeves? Well now its time for those knee issues and ligament issues to be addressed!
This is a special car, we all (with the exception of very few people) give names to them as if they are our kids, and we pamper them, we do not go out there and abuse them.
If all the above are not good reasons to take it easy for a little time in order to get all the internals adjusted and set for the race track sessions, remember this; this is a new car, you need time to learn how it behaves, how it responds. Brake-in period is the perfect time to get to know each other and start this relationship on the right foot so you can be happy for a long long time!

3000 miles including 5 track days and no oil use.
22,000 miles total. 60 track days.
Going into dealer for second time in two years next week for oil, coolant flush, plugs, all filters, PDK oils and 12,000 mile suggested track mile replacement of bearings and wheel locks.
Gets better with age.

Factory told me 1000 km varying speed, ideally...
What is worldwide and much more important is to always warm up the engine gently, I personally cool the car down gently as well. I do this religiously always.
Cracks me up to see people putter for 4000 miles in agony yet rev the car before all fluids are heated up and / or see cars pull off the track with no cool down and park after the break in period.

I have no idea why - there is nothing offensive about the phrases "italian tune", "italian break in", "flat stick" or "drive it like you stole it"
To be frank I couldn't care less and I'm married to an Italian. My wife regularly gives our cars, "italian tunes" thats what she calls it when she goes to a track and drives it "flat stick" or "drives it like she stole it". It basically means drive it at high rpm to de-coke the engine. An "italian break" in - means "drive it like you stole it" from the get go to break the engine in quickly.
Quality work from the moderators as usual.
Back to break ins......
