The economy has changed quite a bit since then...

...please point to a 991GT3 available at a "considerable discount" in the US, and a dealer willing to take 7%+ off MSRP.

Come on. Its a volume to market play. These were both limited production. Look outside of your home market as I have just done and in NZ, Australia, UK, and most of Europe the 1M is now 25% below list and the GT3 3.8 a little more. When launched there were ques and people paying over MSRP to acquire one. Will be no different for 991 GT3/RS. Then gravity takes over for the next 10-15 years. Only exception 4.0RS.

Can't speak for other markets. Definitely volume play but not limited to these two cars. Manual M3, M5, 5-series, R8, F360 etc all command premium over alternative trans.

Sure. Because there was a choice with those cars you selectively mention. But the original connection you were trying to make was between the residuals on 1M and GT3 and them being Manual Transmission. Well they were only sold as MT so the connection is not valid. They were limited volume production models. This is why their residuals became stronger. Lets not drown another thread....

Simple is was. All I was pointing out is it was flawed....however I concede we are spoiling it for others, its what happens when you get bored between the spaces...I think we have finished murdering this thread LOL! The question was "will the 9911 GT3RS sell for above sticker price etc etc etc". If we knew we would have bought Bitcoins at $1 each!

In this space there'll always be some that pay above and some that pay below.
