Default 991 GT3 RS

Will 991 GT3 RS go for above sticker the first few months or maybe first year?

???? Your first post is this? Out off the three "S"s, it doesn't yet have a Spec or a Sticker price only Speculation. Big gobs of it. If this is your first question perhaps you should visit the Net Worth thread and contemplate some of the words of wisdom there LOL!

The days of paying over sticker are over.

There may be a few dealers who still try to gouge their customers, and a few buyers who are dumb enough to allow themselves to be gouged, but in general I agree.

They are definitely not over. I predict we will see a LOT of flippers selling to willing buyers over MSRP for both the standard 991GT3 and the RS. This is the first post-recession GT3, with PDK appealing to a wider audience, and apparently without an increase in production volume.

Take a look at BMW 1M prices - which, like the GT3, has been accused of not being a real 'M' due to having a modified production engine. It was way over MSRP from Day One, and still is. Heck, take a look at 997GT3RS 3.8 prices - a clean, stock, low mileage, low option car will likely trade at or above MSRP.

Interesting that both cars referenced were manual-only…..

Paying more than original MSRP for a car that has proven it's worth over time in the marketplace is different, in my mind, than paying over sticker just for the privilege of owning the latest thing off the showroom floor.

Regardless, the points made about the C7 and M1 are no doubt valid, so I'll refine my original reply. I personally would never pay over sticker off the floor, and if my dealer had priced the current GT3 that way not only would I not have ordered one, he would have lost my future business as well. The days of paying over sticker have never existed AFAIC. I realize it's not what the OP asked, it's just my $.02.

Dealers above sticker v. resale market above sticker are two different animals IMO.

The 1M I've not followed b/c I think they are ugly.

997 GTRS 3.8 I was offered at sticker from my dealer, just like the 997 GT3 I bought and the 991 GT3 now on order.

But I question why all the consternation? Is it to brag to your internet friends that you own a car that is so desirable, people speculate on them? Or b/c you are trying to drive a badass car for minimal out-of-pocket expenses before selling?

Porsche NA frowns on its dealers selling over MSRP, but if demand is there, it is not unusual for a buyer to quickly flip a car through the original purchasing dealer for the benefit of both.

Quick summary of the 1M: ~$50k MSRP; ~$65k transaction prices.

People will always pay a premium for the latest and greatest, whether it is cars, clothes, electronics...

Is it true that Porsche NA frowns on it? Most of the dealers I contacted about an allocation were threatening over sticker. So, I finally found a dealer who didn't.

Yes that is my first post!
Try to get on the list for an RS today.
It's totally impossible, so I expect the first cars to go over sticker due to flippers.
They are taking deposits even though no specs are known.

I already heard of 991 GT3 clients 'selling' their spot for a premium...

To add another "nope": Nope. Just last year, BRZ's were selling for 4k over. A mass production $27k car for $4k over. Crazy.

I would highly doubt that...at the time 997.2 GT3 - RS were available with clear discounts..even a 997 GT2RS could be had with discounts.

I remember we even had a discussion here whether the 991 GT3 will be sold with "premium"..just look at the www how many are already offered with considerable discounts. In Europe 5-7% discount is easy to find..I got offered even more from an official dealer.
