Rational to go from 458 to Gt3?

Very true. An old thread. I wasn't able to decide between the two cars so I decided to add the gt3 and keep both.
Also I have tried to tempt myself with the RS and the 488 more recently but so far feel no serious urge to change my sports car combo.

Perfect...Both if you have the space and $.

The 458 feels way more nimble than my former 991 GT3. The steering is more numb on the GT3. The 458 steering reminds me more of my prior 996.3...but better. You can't even compare the throttle response between the two. The 458 has literally zero resistance for the rise and fall of revs....almost like no flywheel...
BTW, Sgroer I ran into someone you knew at Watkins Glen this past weekend.

If anything, I would say that the 458 may even be a little TOO twitchy for me. I HATE in race mode cruising on the highway, you cannot get the rpm to settle. The throttle is so sharp that it's almost on or off, easily changed by putting it in sport mode etc. I could maybe see your point of the 458 steering being more numb, but I think for me it'd really come alive at higher speeds than the GT3. I think that I would need to drive both at their limits to decide on that one.
Though the GT3 revs so freely, I just cannot compare it to the 458. It may be that the 458 has shorter gear ratios or super light rotating mass, but the thing spins up like a sport bike and just fires through the gears!
Transmission goes to the GT3 for me

If you have the $, keep both.
If you have to choose, it boils down to what you really want.
Ferrari too eye catcher. Thats is why when I traded my F430, I went to a silver SCUD. I dont care if nobody sees me, but DID NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
I never did get over my last 911 C4s so as soon as I can afford one, I got my GT3. I did not sell by scud because I would be left empty in one spot.
I knew I had to have both.
If I where looking for a DD, I will get a GT3. If I would get a backup car, I would get the 458.
I hope that in the next few years, the prices of a 458 would be low enough that I can add it in my stable.
