I will be happy to be passed by one on track ...
They won't pass you. They will have to slow down to admire the Mexico Blue!

either that or they will go off track into the nearest wall distracted by the thought that anyone would own such a color by choice!

I actually not so secretly am starting to yearn for a PTS MB 991 GT3 or RS!

I know all of us Porsche owners are fabulously wealthy, but ~$5500? Ouch!

I'm first in line.

Just buy it from me when we get done with the Euro delivery.

You spec it, I don't care what kind of smurf blue I drive around Europe and than show me around the Ring get drunk afterwards
After I'm done with my holiday travel I ship it to CA and its yours...

The GT3 is inadequate because it's a little slower than the 458 Speciale at less than half the price.

The GT3 is inadequate because it is only a little faster than the Corvette at more than twice the price.

The GT3 fails because, despite clearly outperforming its predecessors, it is too comfortable.

The GT3 fails because it isn't as good as the forthcoming RS, about which we know next to nothing.

The GT3's durability is questionable despite Porsche's long time reputation for reliability on the track and on the street. The 991 seems to have avoided first year problems, but that doesn't matter. It's cooling hoses and CL's that are the worry. Porsche surely overlooked fixing those issues! Of course, there is no question about the Corvette or Ferrari. We'll just rush right out and buy one.

I could go on with my confusion, but I think I will just shut up and drive.
Lol! Overpriced air-cooled cars aside, finally we agree on something.

perfect post..

on the 991 engines: cant answer your question...but Porsche has to rethink its engine platform due to the emissions regulations...that is also no secret. Just look what BMW is doing..Porsche will do the same..

By the way, this change would not be a reason for me to get off the merry ground..others are..or were..

For me it is as tge lap times are readily comparable and we can see howbthey stack up. Mostly im looking forward to lightning lap and laguna lap. I dont too much care for british auto journalism comparos. But thats just me.

We will know without a doubt what the car is about after it lines up test after test with z06 and zr1 and viper. In the US I doubt they would have neglected to test the 4.0 and GTR but instead cherry pick objective data to claim superiority when they could have just tested all 3. Lame.

I think the best 997GT3 tests where the GT3DECUP drovers with full data and lap times

As far as I can tell I'm the only one with one on order if that tells you anything. Until the RS arrives I'll steal the first GT3 with keys in it and report back.
Y'all been warned.
