I would bet against a manual. This car looks too finished for a Geneva release. I am betting on Frankfurt so Porsche can counter the 458 Scuderia which should be displayed there.

Hasn't Porsche already said NO manual definitively? I like the idea of buying a no option S 7 speed and building for a track.

The final summary from the first drive review of the 991 GT3 in Car magazine...

Porsche 911 GT3 (2013) CAR review

"While the winged wonder from Weissach may have lost some of its rough edges, it has at the same time acquired important new qualities. Like a supreme sense of balance, a higher level of tactility, more potent and more progressive action, a creamier behaviour at the limit of adhesion as well as amazingly articulated feedback."

"The message to hardliners is don’t worry, all the trademark GT3 entertainment values are still there, standing proud and tall. Some buyers will never be convinced, however, and for them there's still hope: the upcoming 911 GT3 RS is rumoured to be as blunt a weapon as the diehards could ever wish for, and the engineers haven't yet ruled out an optional manual gearshift..."

Dream come true for me. I'll wait for the RS if it happens. If they do it. I hope they don't put in the rev matching on downshifts, or at least be able to turn it off like the C7.

Maybe in 4 years with the gen 2 cars but not with the 991 GT3 RS being launched in 6 weeks.

Not sure where this comment is from as I cant find it on the original link posted.

Never say never. BMW also tried the auto-only route with the M5 and we all know how that ended. There's no way Porsche would ever let slip a manual was in the works given what they've got on the line with this launch.
