991.2 RS. New potential buyer. Help!! —- freedom warranty?
Quick question guys
im supposed to pick one up tomorrow but it’s not a CPO and no place will give an extended warranty on it.
for those who bought outside of CPO. What are you guys doing? Just risking it?
has anyone worked with freedom? from every thread I’ve read…there is no places that will warranty a non cpo RS.

When I owned mine I drove it 4 years past the warranty expiration. Had it stored for winter and missed the possibility of adding it before the original expired, When I took it in they took about an hour to tell mo they couldn’t add a policy.
What’s the story on the one you’re buying - mileage, mods, lots of track duty, etc.? Assume you did a PPI and it’s a clean car. It’s worth the risk for a car that checks out but that’s me. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy any RS if they aren’t prepared to take care of something that may come up. They are robust but it’s still a car and anything can happen.
Enjoy the RS!

Have your local dealer buy it, then CPO it and sell it to you for the original purchase price, plus the added CPO cost. Thats the way to do it. Many dealers will do this to sell the CPO and get the CPO service after the fact. It's good for both parties.

do you know how much it costs to CPO a car?

Fully understand - both front radiators had to be replaced under warranty on my turbo, as well as a cheap coolant hose that required the engine to be removed to service. I was able to purchase an extended warranty on it before the original expired, worth the peace of mind. Unfortunately I couldn’t find anything for the RS so I just dealt with it.
Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind if you’re picking it up tomorrow, so CPO may not be an option. CPO cost to the dealer will vary based on what needs to be done to bring it up to the CPO specifications. As you may be aware, this is then baked into the purchase of the car. Sometimes it’s nothing more than an inspection and subsequent warranty, and others its tires, brakes, and bringing a vehicle up to its major service. So the cost to you would vary based on the needs of the car. It’s been my experience the dealer tags on $3-5K for it. Well worth it IMHO. RS cars out of warranty are harder and more expensive to find 3rd party policies. Also need to ensure you’re aware of what’s covered, etc.
Nevertheless, post some pics when you get it. I’ve never met anyone disappointed to purchase an 991.2 RS,
Cheers!

992 if it’s going to keep you up at night?
I bought a .2 recently and wouldn’t consider non cpo as the risk wasn’t worth it. Big picture financial stuff that’s all too personal for a forum. But it’s just a matter of all that plus risk tolerance.
