Default .2 GT3 purchase question

Looking at a 2018 GT3 at a small exotic car dealership. Like the spec but a couple of things caught my attention.

Car has about 15000 mi but has had about 3 or 4 rear brake pad and tire replacements in that limited mileage. Dealer says car has had 3 owners but never been tracked. Given that amount of tire and brake pad wear I'm thinking someone has beat on this car.

Am I wrong in that line of thinking? Would regular aggressive street driving result in that kind of tire and brake pad replacement?

Centerlocks look a bit rough cosmetically which is likely because they have been removed and put back for tire and brake replacements. As a comparison I have looked at a different car with half that mileage and the centerlocks look new cosmetically and that car has been tracked a handful of days.

Can someone shed some light on my observations?

It's had it rear pads changed 3-4 times already and ONLY has 15k miles? That's heavy traction control intervention.

This one has lived on the track.

Yes, this one has very likely lived at the track. That doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it if you love the spec, just be fully aware going in.

The fact that the dealer is either lying or ignorant of the car’s track history is enough to make me walk. Buy the seller.

I'd rather have a car that was driven "hard" and hasn't had any issues, than one that sat in a garage for 5 years and only has 500 miles.

you'd probably expect 2-3 tire changes in 15k mi depending upon the usage ... and as others pointed out 3-4 brake pad changes means the ESC/TC has been busy ...

The fact that the brake pad replacements are specifically indicated for the rear is something to note. Even for a tracked car, my front pads wear much faster than the rears.

Yes likely seen lots of track use, causing the rear pads to wear quicker. Like others said, not a reason not to buy the car, just pay appropriately.

I have a GT3RS with 13,000 miles and all brake pads are still practically new. i had a high horsepower ZR1 that after 22,000 miles, pads were 50% done. But that car was considerably heavier and required a lot more braking due to extra power.

If the car has had 3 owners, how can the dealer possibly know that the car has never been driven on track? Let me guess, the dealer also said that the car "has never seen a drop of rain and has been lovingly stored in a climate controlled garage its entire life." The car being on its third set of tires at 15,000 miles is not too hard to believe for an aggressively driven street GT3, however, the number of rear brake pad changes certainly indicates a hard driven track car. I'd pass on the car unless it is priced very competitively, but I bet that is not the case.

Inspect the brake caliper pistons too. If the ceramic discs are cracked that's a sign of track use. Also note the recommended maintenance for track use- hubs/bearings and CL bolts which could be due or overdue. I wouldn't dismiss a car that's been tracked but would insist on disclosure of track mileage and priced accordingly for any overdue maintenance.

While that can certainly happen, my ceramic pucks were still intact and looking healthy on my tracked RS with 20K miles. So that's not always an indicator. Meanwhile, I've seen street-only GT cars with cracked pucks that never saw a track.

Some additional clarification....sorry the way I worded it initially was not very clear. Several sets of tires and only one set of rear brake pads. So maybe just driven hard on the street.

ah! - then nothing to worry about - I would expect at least one if not more tire changes at that mileage, maybe more if driven hard/tracked ... 1x pad change is nothing to worry about IMO ... still suggests that it was driven hard/ESC-TC intervention...
