Default Rattle Under Shifter

Recently purchased a 991.2 GT3T and when I press the gas pedal there is a rattle sound in/under the shifter and when I take my foot off it seems to go away. I recognize the car is loud, vibrates, etc. but is this normal or an underlying issue? Car is CPO. Thanks

Welcome to the 991.2 GT3 touring conundrum, I am in same situation but for me it's the engine transmitted vibrations to the cabin. The GT3T seems to be much harsher than my GT3RS and dealer says that's normal.

there is a little rattle like you describe, I also get a little whine at low speed from the diff or gearbox.

I have had my car for 3.5 years and no rattles. Doesn’t sound right.

Does the noise go away when you press the clutch?

If so, could be the flywheel

I appreciate the comments. I’ve had a few 911’s, first GT car, but also the first with this type of noise. Perhaps it is the flywheel. I’m going back to the dealership for assessment.

just fyi the shifter cables do transmit vibrations back to the shifter - this is likely what is happening ... normal AFIAK

Does it happen in all gears? The cars were know to have a vibration in the shifter in 4th gear but not a rattle.

I have a 2018 GT3T and also have a small rattling noise that seems to come from the shifter. I noticed for me it is more when changing gears. Plan to ask dealer to look at it during the next service. Interested to know how others fixed it.
Bought the car end of last year CPO so we will see what dealer can find.

Mine is quiet as a mouse, perhaps I'm just used to the noises it "should" make but what you are describing doesn't sound normal. I do recall some early issues with the 3-4 gear where the driver could actually see the shifter moving under load and others where the shift **** literally came off but I haven't experienced those issues.

I have this, you can feel the shifter move as you toggle the clutch in/out - I believe its simply a function of the shifter cables transmitting vibrations from the box when in 3 or 4 ... no big deal IMO

I appreciate the feedback and I was finally able to drive my car this afternoon after terrible weather this week. The mechanical rattle below the shifter is there. Other than that, the car is perfect. Maybe I’ve reached a personal pinnacle in 911’s. Could never own a 911 PDK.

I had a master tech from the local dealership take a ride with men and he experienced noise as well. Once I have the results in July I’ll communicate.

Thanks

fingers crossed its nothing serious ... all things being equal - I''d live with it rather than have the center console pulled apart!
