2020 the heart of RL was ripped out. IB only cares about clicks to make money. There's other spaces now, rennlisp is no longer what it was back in the day.

this thread will be closed also at some point. Just remember you are the product here, ala facebook.

It's likely not malicious, I've seen this at other IB sites with the same bulletin board software. The threads with a lot of replies end up being taxing sql queries so they close them out to reduce the cycles ate up by them and risk of table corruption.

They should have done the courtesy of spinning up a v2 thread.

None of those topics belong here. No one is disallowing you from speaking your mind. And honestly that thread was hundreds of pages long and it was allowed to go on for how many years?

Again, I dont know why I am defending the admin here. I still dont know why it was closed. I dont even know where the thread is honestly. Was it because politics got in (as in trump etc not forum politics) or some other argument broke out? Or is it because someone spoke harshly of CJ and his cheerleaders threatened to have a meet up or else?

I have read a lot of forums over the years. I find RL the best, not even close to some of the other forums (ferrari chat, mclaren life, bimmerpost, etc). I think this is not a big deal. You guys can start a new thread in off topic section and enjoy talking about biking routes or blow jobs (I personally didnt like some of the sexual jokes, a bit too classless).
Actually, I didn't participate in or read that particular thread at all. I would see it on the front page whenever it was active and... go ahead and open up the threads that were of interest to me me. No harm, no foul. I have no idea how it affects your browsing experience if 991 GT3 owners want to talk hobbies and interests with other owners in the bowels of a thread that you don't have to read. It certainly didn't affect mine.

@mooty there is no record of anyone having closed that thread, which typically means it was done by the OP. I am re-opening it, and apologize for whatever happened, but I am reasonably confident nobody from the Rennlist team did this to your thread.

^ Many thanks, Robb.

I have taken your suggestion and address both new and old thread in an attempt to direct new posts to new thread (THIS ONE).

while I could move it to 992 forum, I chose to stay 991 b/c I have friends in 996 997 991 992.... I think 991 is still the largest melting pot.
992 argues often
997 are mostly treasured and not driven much
996 most ppl can't drive it well enough to leave their lives
so 991 is where we chat

I also have no interest about ring time and allocation blah blah.
it only matters once you are allocated a car, and then driven it.
when my god damn RS shows up. I will then talk about it

many track warriors like to talk about track.
well, you konw. I been there done that for so long that I have no interest.
lets just sure 20 sets of tire a year was common.
4 dually
6 trailers
but I can still answer your track questions
most of the answer will go above your head until you have 10+ years on track, then you will smile and nod, grasshopper

some think new cars are only good for track use.
well yes and know
that is NOT a car question but one of philosophy, religion and humanity.
if you can't understand the stmt, perhaps you are too busy working hard...
give yourself 5 years to stare at the ceiling and breath fresh air, you will come around..,

back to regular useless contents.

jono, post pic of that sever car

Let's face it, this is flaunting entitlement. Because the OP is a lifetime member, he gets to have it his way. Anybody else, the thread will be eliminated.

We all know, these type of threads should be in OT, behind the paywall.

OP posting it where he pleases generates alot more attention (this sub is still one of the busiest) and negates the need for paying to enjoy the privilege of shooting the breeze.

Man. Some negative nellys in this thread! Don’t like it? Don’t read it.

To keep this thread appropriate, my 991.2 RS is for sale and someone should buy it!

but per Mooty, this is keeping me plenty busy.

and a bike pic for good measure
