With the Laguna Seca repavement scheduled for May/June this year, we are all curious about the grip level of the new surface, how new curbing changes the geometry of the track, and if the new pavement will be a faithful reproduction of the original profile.
In the meantime, here's a lap from the archives by a non-pro driver on Cup 2 R tires. The 1:31.75 lap was on the 3rd heat cycle after the tires lost their ultimate potential. Curious to come back for an attempt on the new surface!

Will be interesting to try the track after the resurfacing.
Signed up for a Laguna Seca track day in August and looking forward to it. Running MPSC2'S with 3 track days on them.

Sweet lap. Was that you modulating the throttle exiting T6 or TC intervention?

Several of us are shipping cars down for HOD/SpeedSF that first weekend. I’m really curious how it will drive with the repave. I hope it doesn’t lose too much of its character.
