Default 27,000 mile 4 year service GT3T

Thought this may be of interest. Just had my 4 year 27,000 mile service/inspection. Car alway driven at leat 20 minutes so no short trips. No track but always driven hard.
-50/50 mix of 0w40 and 0w50 Mobile one racing oil.
-Oil changed at 500 miles, 1,500 miles and then every 4,000 or so miles.
-Lucas UCL used in fuel at every fill up
-Always used non-ethanol premium.

Issues:
-leaking clutch master cylinder fluid line
-Shock on engine cover weak
-Valves are probably in need engine out dry ice de-carbon cleaning.

Other than that car is great. Cams look new.

So the pictures show gunk on the valves? Is this a common problem? I haven't heard of that before.

Yes it is common to all direct fuel injection engines.

Sup with the Lucas UCL? Any benefits? Haven’t heard people adding to these motors.

You should have the intakes walnut blasted if they are collecting carbon.

This is why meth injection is great, it helps to keep the intake valves nice and clean. (More so used in turbo cars)

I was wondering if Meth injection would be a good idea?

We are going to use Dry Ice blasting to clean them. Unfortunately the moto needs to come out to do it.

Lucas is a fuel additive that lubricates the pump, injectors and cylinders. I use it in all my cars.

Damn! Engine removal for that, eeek. I guess with the flat 6 style there is likely no access..

I would for sure install a water/meth system on the car, just to keep the intake valves clean. It will help with IATs too if you live in a hot climate.

Maybe talk to M Engineering, see what they say. I have the same kit for my TTS.

That is a rather minor amount of crap on the valves, unproblematic. If you blast it off it will be back before long, pointless exercise. There is no significant performance deg from carbon buildup with these engines...

Interesting. The audi v8 suffers a significant power drop due to dirt/carbon buildup. Why doesn't the Gt3 engine? Longer valve stems, so flow isn't restricted?

Because the crap buildup on the old Audi FSIs is a lot worse than this (modern DFI engines have implemented some mitigations to stop it becoming excessive)
