There is a service bulletin for the known rubbing issue. My dealer did not blink when I asked them to roll the fenders. Your car is rubbing. The TSB is to fix this known problem.

The dealer will need to have or order the correct tool to attach the roller to the center lock hub. Do a search, Tom at TPC posted a video.

Lastly, I went to my dealer to be sure they would "fix" any potential problem caused by the rolling process like paint chipping. There is a bit of an art to the rolling process.

If you are mechanically inclined, best thing you can do is spend some time on here doing some research and learning how to do/perform some of the maintenance: oil/filter/air filter/plugs/coil packs/cabin filters/brakes/etc. You will save some money and enjoy learning more about the car.

After rolling the fenders on my own car, I can imagine how some dealers/shops would not want to taken on the liability. The potential of losing some paint in the area to be rolled is high even with all precautions taken. If there's PPF applied to that area the film will become damaged. I would only do this for the purpose of preventing cutting a tire while driving on track(and for intended suspension travel), not for the purpose of saving the paint. Here's a video to how I did it.

Fender rolling is very difficult. I’m just gonna get stock springs put back on and paint the damaged area with thick layer of clear coat. Loving the car so far and this forum. Loving the Porsche community.

oil changes and filters I can do. My buddy has a lift at his house. Body and fender rolling I wouldn’t attempt myself. Having a srt hellcat. Seen so many fender rolling gone wrong and paint chipping down the road.

Look under rear fender just behind the rear wheels. If the little flat fender spot looks like it was chewed by squirrels, it was probably tracked.

Porsche dealers roll fenders?!! Are you kidding me?

OP, did you not have the car inspected before you wrote a $175,000 check?

100% it’s tracked it’s got tarret racing springs on them. Windshield is peppered as well. Porsche mechanic told me it should run better than a garage Queen. Car was built for the track.

Plastic has holes cars so low can’t get a good picture.

What kind of springs are these. Should I put everything back to stock?

Angle was hard to get but most of the paint on the right side has been all chewed off. Do I need to apply something so it doesn’t rust. Looks like there’s a little on there.
just a point of order, the car might have been tracked a bit, but it wasn’t “raced.” Big difference. Almost all HPDE cars are driven way, way off the pace they are capable of running and that the cars were built for. Get it cleaned up and drive it.

I don’t know why people are so freaked out by a car that has been tracked. For the majority of them a track car is better maintained. Regular oil changes, brake flushing, brake pads and rotors, and inspections. How many threads have you seen where someone with a 5 year old car with 7K miles on it is asking if they need to change their oil?! Also these engines are good for 150K miles how many GT3 have you seen with more than 40K tracked or not?

Agreed. The idea that tracked cars are bad ones to buy is silly. Cosmetically they may have more wear, but they are absolutely better maintained. My GT3 has seen 4 oil changes this year and nothing goes unaddressed on it.

Also, it is a freakin’ RS. It is a track car. And 991.1 RSs are very robust. Congrats to the OP, you’ll have a great car for a long time.
