Hi all
currently running a soul valved side muffler bypass and a rss xpipe center delete
I love the sound it produces
However it's bit loud so I was wondering if there is a different center muffler that might reduce the volume a bit?
There is no drone on the highway but at certain parts of the rpm it does get boomy
I had the soul valved side muffler with the oem center muffler but didn't want it to crack and honestly didn't notice a lot of difference with this setup
Or would my best bet be putting the oem side muffler back in and keep the rss center delete? I do like the weight savings for track and less heat in the tires
I would keep the valved side deletes for the reasons you mentioned. Depending on how much volume you're trying to reduce, you could go with one of these options:
JCR Silenced Center Bypass
Dundon Lifetime Center Muffler (Loud or Quiet)

Soul is coming out with a quieter center muffler now. We run the Soul Sides with GMG center, and while it sounds amazing, it is a bit loud. We run national events with the soul sides and OEM center to meet sound requirements, but for driving on the street it is just too boring...Hopefully the soul center will be a bit louder than oem.

yeah Ive seen early CAD designs for it ... I will be getting one once it enters production @Soul Performance

Any side muffler delete/center muffler delete is going to be loud, however, there are very different versions of that loud and boominess depending on the center muffler design. Our GT3 X-Pipe and its integral tip is specifically designed to reduce boominess and drone and to create a higher pitched tone, which is much more pleasant to the ears. We use either 2.5" or 2.75" primary tubing depending on the sound level desired, as well as, optional in-line mufflers on the smaller upper pipe, if desired. Many of the current designs on the market cone or flare upward to a much larger diameter after the initial connection on the primary leg. Although it looks kind of cool, our testing has revealed that all it really does is create more noise of a deeper and boomier character, a tone that that we try to avoid in all our 911 exhaust platforms. We steered away from this flared cone design on our 991 GT3 X-Pipe specifically to create a more user friendly product. Our team has learned over the years how to tweak the tone with tip design and we have utilized this knowledge on our 991 GT3 X-Pipe tips. We don't feel we left anything on the table and quite frankly are confident that we have achieved fantastic sound characteristics. I drove our 991 GT3 (with SpeedTech valved side muffler deletes and 2.75" X-Pipe) for 8 hours through the mountains of northern NH this week and found it to be loud, but very comfortable and enjoyable, certainly no need for ear plugs, etc. In closing, I think you would benefit from a change to our 2.5" 991 GT3 X-Pipe, while retaining your side deletes. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM or email me and I will do my best to help.
Here is a video of the side muffler deletes with our 2.75 center muffler delete XP:
OEM center is on the vehicle. I want to keep the reduced weight of the side -deletes and tame down the noise. I have the JCR tips now. But was looking for a cleaner option.

I have the Akrapovic Ti tips on my OEM center ... but also have the Soul turn downs for (local) track use ... given the sound limitations on Ca tracks with the side deletes (which I think are a must have for weight/heat reduction)
the center choices are pretty limited .... I'd probably go with an Akra Ti center...
