If there is any difference between my 991.2 GT3 and 992 GT3 frunks, I haven't noticed it. Same stuff fits in both...

 

Given the 992 3RS announcement, I think there is a fair chance that the 991.2 RS and 992 GT3 will now be seen as the latest and greatest useable Porsche GT cars to ever leave the factory.

I think over the next 2 years we will see a spike in demand for them

Don't need anything else. I sometimes bring a chair, but it's usually not needed. And I'm probably forgetting something, but that's the gist.


Must be a Miami Blue RS owner thing - I'm the exact same, and half the time forget to even pack a chair to sit on. Living on the edge!

 

I wish they offered the "996 Riviera Blue" theme in the same vein as the '72 RS tribute colors the Monterey car came in!

Yes, this RS is definitely more race car than any previous generation RS. AP told his co-host the car has more aero than the co-hosts race car, a claim the co-host did not deny.

Is the RS a model meant to be a race car you can legally drive on the street? Yes.
Is the 992 GT3 RS a higher iteration of the race car than previous RSs? Yes.

Will future RS buyers buy it over the prior gen RS? That, truly, is the thousand dollar question. I love Porsche, I love the GT3s. I've bought several. If I were on the market today for a street car for the track, I'd buy the 992 GT3. If I were on the market today for a race car for the street, I'd buy the 992 GT3RS. No question, no doubt.

Hey why not, but that's it right - everything else is done - windshield tear-offs with lifetime replacement from Porsche maybe. Maybe the 992.2 will have the 4.2 (they will make 500 of them!!) - then hybrid after. Is 4.2L the absolute upper limit of this engine architecture? I speculate that 992.2 will be cosmetic plus powertrain changes.

As an aside - my wife drives a Cayenne e-hybrid - totally different beast of course but between the (lowly) 3.0 turbo and the electric drive its pretty awesome. I can't wait to drive the hybrid Caymans and 911s when they come out - not sure I would buy one, but they should be amazing. I just don't know what Porsche can do for an encore after this car but then people probably said the same thing when the 2.7 RS came out.

 

I think we have already seen the greatest demand in 2021 and 2022 cooling down next years imho
