Interesting to see where the sequential serials climb each time somebody posts theirs. For reference, I was 1140 in 12/2020... so ~300 replacements since. They must be sick of this by now.
This is an interesting statistic putting the replacements at ~10%

Would assume that 300 would be world wide. But the warranty is only NA (IIRC) so those would likely mostly be to NA cars. 300 is about 14% of NA production. Wonder what the overall replacement percentage will end up being.

Porsche being sick of this…. Hard to believe Porsche will continue to financially support this issue post the ten year warranty but who knows.

I just looked up my serial number out of curiosity, engine was replaced last January, serial number is G61431. For anyone wondering, if your engine was replaced you *should* have a sticker in the "maintenance" book, although I would imagine that this is sometimes overlooked.

Here’s the unknown, did G6 serials start at zero or did they append to the factory G0 numeration? Honestly, I’m unaware of when they exactly came into the marketplace but would love to know.

Is the new serial number in the same location? Did they resurface the old one and re-engrave the new one?

G6’s were replacements only starting maybe 2018. 2016 OEM was G0.

Here’s screenshot from a past post that summarizes the E to F to G0 to G6 changes. Although I do disagree with the author’s final comment… seems so far the G6 is on par with the .2 OEM engines for reliability so one should not have any worries whatsoever with a G6 991.1.

G60747 was installed June of 2020. I could see the percentage being well over 10%.

And 1199 was installed a year earlier than that. The G6 issue numbers do not appear sequential. May be pulled randomly off a shelf.

Seems like we're going to need a Google Sheets database!

(still hoping to win the lottery on my .1 GT3)
