Default Current options for trackable tires for 991 GT3?

I just finished my zillionth set of Cup 2 this past weekend on my 991.1 GT3. It's not a terrible track tire, but it's expensive, lasts only about 10 days at most, and tends to overheat and give up grip after a few hard laps. I could stick with the Cup 2, but what other decent options are there for trackable tires?

Try the Nankang AR1s. I've had 3 days on them now and they are awesome. Got a PB at Sonoma and I'm close to a new PB at Laguna. I'm still feeling out the limits of the them at this point. The only detriment is the road noise on the street but even that seems better now that I've got some wear on them. They are about $600 cheaper for a set too.

Do they fit on the factory wheels?

Nankang AR-1 is great, but as mentioned they're noisy (compared to Cup2) on the road and are pretty much a no go in the rain. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again for light DD and drives to/from the track. I really like the Nankang CR-S as an all around tire. Really good road manners, and very solid track performance (slower than AR-1's to be fair). I ran them new in the rain at COTA and they did really well. Now that they're nearly slicks, they are sketchy in the wet.

Originally there were comments that the AR1s looked a bit stretched on the rears but the current version I have fits fine on OEM sized wheels. I also read somewhere the contact patch is a bit bigger then cup2s or Dunlops, especially on the fronts.

When I was at the track this weekend, someone recommended the Goodyear F1 Supercar 3, said it last about 20 days, consistent grip throughout sessions, thought it might be better grip than Cup 2 (though Tire Rack reviews indicate otherwise). The Goodyear website says it doesn't fit, but they have 245/35/20 and 305/30/20, so I think it should fit:

WOW 20 days? I'm getting 24-26 sessions 4-5 track days regardless of the tire.

Supercar 3R would be comparable to Cup 2. The Supercar 3 is slower than Cup 2.

10 Days on cup2s is insanely good to begin with. They already loose peak grip after about 4 days from my experience.

I got about 7-8 days out of the last set, but would have gotten another couple days if I flipped them in time. I find that the grip doesn’t drop too much over those days. My front tires always wear much faster than the rears, and with this set I knew I reached the end when I corded the left front!

Thanks Adam. I don't think Goodyears site even lists this size.

On backorder though, just like everything else.

I would probably try the CR-S or AR-1, depending on your use case. I have some buddies running them on other platforms and they really like them.

I still run Cup 2 on my car but try to use take-offs when possible, takes a bit of the sting out of it.

Have you tried Cup2 Connect tyres? I’m not using the “connect” sensor stuff but the tyre compound is at least as grippy and seems to be lasting longer than the standard Cup2.
