Default Carplay confirm on 991.2 GT3RS no Bose

I've searched and have found different answers. I'm in the hunt for a 991.2 RS and found a few w/o the Bose option select so just the standard stereo. Can anyone confirm that should have carplay? Porsche site says it's standard on 2017+ 911's but I've found a few RS's that say they don't have it?

Thanks in advance.

yes, you have carplay on the 991.2.

btw, in the RS adding the Bose option makes no sense unless you listen to music with the engine turned off...

I understand that your question is really about whether the non-Bose GT3RS supports Carplay, and, in your shoes, I'd also want to confirm that, knowing how Porsche moves in mysterious ways.

As an aside, I love high-quality music reproduction and the Burmester 3D High-End option in my E63S is a delight, even in a not-very-but-passably-quiet car.

My 991.2 GT3RS has the Bose and listening to that while driving is like being repeatedly banged on the head by a metal drum. The base system is likely indistinguishable from the Bose; maybe a smaller metal drum. In other words, playing music, or even speech, while driving is just asking for a headache. The Bose isn't even much good without the engine running, likely because of the GT3RS' lack of acoustic treatment.

Just as weird is the really expensive B&W high-end system in a McLaren, which sounds good without the engine running, but is drowned out by the engine when driving.

The Bose in my Taycan, which is a very quiet car, isn't bad at all, but the Burmester would be even better.

Thanks. Yea I've hit two RS's so far that seem to have it not enabled from PDI I'm guessing but have no idea. The Miami Blue one that just sold on BAT was an example where 911r said Carplay wasn't enabled. So still trying to figure out if I end up with something base that for whatever reason doesn't have the setting enable how to enable it.

991.2 GT3 RS - carplay is enabled, its part of the system - the option of BOSE or no BOSE is not relevant to this.

You have not mentioned what specific model you looked at. I can definitely say the 991.2 RS has carplay. Not sure about 991.1. As mentioned above, whether it is standard radio or BOSE does not matter as both will have carplay.

CarPlay isn't just about the radio. Yes, all GT3s are louder than average vehicles, but it is very good for navigation (Apple/Google maps) and other things (texts, messages, etc).

And yes, to reiterate, all 991.2 GT3s have Apple CarPlay. My non-RS does not have Bose, but it has CarPlay. I use it all the time.
