Default Gear **** falling apart...

The plastic silver insert in my 2018 Touring just fell out. I put it back in but it is clearly not solidly seated and will pop out again - it even rattles a bit. I might have a broken tab or something but is there a particular way to secure it? Should I just glue it in? Get a new insert?

I've had two replaced on my '18 GT3 for that exact thing.

I haven’t had that issue (yet) but would love to replace that plastic one for something made of aluminum or carbon fiber. Does anyone sell just that piece?

Same thing happened to me while at the track so I used a tie wrap to finish out the day and when I got home two dabs of silicone has fixed the problem so far. The dealer won't or can't sell just that piece so a repair is C$800 for the whole stick!

I had the carbon fiber R shifter in my touring and it was terrific. It might be worth just replacing the whole thing with that.

That is nice... But in general I like stock shifters... They're getting so rare.

Company is called function first. Very weighted. Between that and the numeric short shifter has such a precise feel. Love them both. No affiliation just happy customer.

+1 - I am three years and 18,000 miles into my GT3 with the R shifter. It looks brand-new.

Go to auto store get 3M TRIM adhesive, wear some glove and careful dab meet joints with that part. It won't fall off again.

My warranty **** has been on order for a year and a half. Although I have deviated stitching. I super glued it back while I wait.
