The Porsche Connect module/3G issue has nothing to do with the PCM and it's connectivity (hotspot). The PCM has a sim slot and is actually 4G. So the track precision app does not need connectivity to work. The app uses your cell signal for data.

Porsche connect is the VDO phone car connected services (alarm notification, location, door startus, fuel, etc)

Thx a lot for the info. I drove by Sonoma raceway today and the track app appears to be working. Will give it another go this Tuesday.
