I just sold my 2018 Miami blue GT3 after enjoying it for 17,000 glorious spirited miles. Which proves that if you maintain it in good condition, you can use it and still sell it for the same or more than comparable lower miles GT3!!!
Hopefully this will encourage other GT3 owners to DRIVE this special example of German engineering.
Realistically 17k miles is nothing for the well built 4.0 L engine that is built to endure many many more miles than most of us can ever put on !!!

Nothing better than washing my 991.2 GT3 6MT by hand. Even at 4 degrees C ambient temperature. Now just have to drive it more but it does have 20k km. It can easily take heavy miles.

As others have said congratulations on the sale, i think you might've set a record but if we're being honest here i think the pandemic, lockdowns, economy, and inflation had a lot more to do with the high price you got then the fact you maintained the car and hand washed it. These are great cars but are they worth north of 200K? Absolutely not, but then again someone also thought GME was a good buy at $483 as well.

I agree; however, the fact that we’re facing the end of the ICE era also has something to do with the demand and related price increases. Being able to get a well-maintained car with relatively low miles (bought my 991.2 GT3 last month with 3200 miles) means that the buyer can own and get lots of enjoyment out of these cars for many, many years while the rest of the population switches exclusively to hybrids or EVs. That is where I saw the rationale for paying the premium currently being placed on sports cars at the moment. I have no doubt that prices will come down a bit once the supply chain issues are sorted but the more macro move to EVs is still going to cause a supply/demand imbalance for high-demand well-maintained ICE sports cars so I’m not sure we will ever see GT cars selling at the prices we saw pre-COVID unless there is a major equities market correction that impacts the overall economy for an extended period of time, and even then I would expect prices to rebound quickly as the market recovers. It’s certainly and interesting time!

I see the logic; however, ... i don't think we are as close to the end of the ice era as we think. Electric cars aren't there yet, Ford, GM, Lucid, Rivian are barely scratching the surface, Tesla is the only one killing it with decent production numbers but who wants to buy the same car as everyone else in the neighborhood. ( i know a lot of people but they are so ugly), and lets not talk about the charging infrastructure. That's a joke at best. In my opinion we are a min of 10-15 years away from electric vehicles overtaking ICE (not replacing). That's what? ... two Porsche generations 992 and whatever comes after that 994 perhaps? And while i love the 991 GT3 platform hell I've had 3 there's isn't anything special about it to keep the values up. Its not the last or the first of anything and they made way too many, more then any other GT generations before. It just happens to be the latest model that's easily available. 992 are still too new and scarce.

But I 100% agree with you we live in a interesting time when logic and fundamental analysis doesn't mean much. And who knows what next year will bring so by all means buy whatever makes you happy if you have the means. I think a lot of people have that mentality hence why prices keep going up.

The reason we are still seeing 991.2 GT3's above MSRP is because the 992 is unavailable yet and they were charging $100k-$150k over MSRP. Anything GT3 was sucked upwards to fill the price void.

Look at the GT4 market for comparison which has seen an upward trend just like the porsche market but not nearly as much as the GT3 market. As more 992's come into the market the prices will start to come down as more 991.2 and 991.1 are available on the secondary market.

I agree with the others that it doesn't have to do with the good condition (although that certainly helps). I also agree with OP's sentiment that you should drive the hell out of your cars and go race them. It's what separates Porsche owners from Ferrari and Lamborghini garage queens and why I don't own either of those two. The car is meant to be used.

All you folks with your reasonable, intelligent assessment of future value can go take a hike. My 991.2 3RS will be worth $BILLIONS$ by the end of this year! Elon will personally seek me out because of my amazing spec, and he will just have to have it no matter what.
