I've gone through this exact protocol as well and per the manual. I've tried several other combinations and it worked just once thus far. I'm beginning to wonder if it's the charger or something going on internally with the car.

I just hard wired my CTek to the battery.
It takes less than 10 minutes.

I'm about to just go this route as I always have in the past with good results. I understand that the negative terminal on the battery should NOT be used however due to complications with the computer. Which model do you have? I was looking at the CTEK MXS 5.0.

I dont know whats going on here but I have a ctek charger connected via the center armrest port. I have used this method many times last year as well. Why are you trying to use the foot well?

Per the instructions, the passenger footwell is to be used since power is apparently not cut from this location. Many others have success with that as well. I on the other hand, have not. The armrest port has worked for me once already but something about it or my process is not consistent. It really shouldn’t be this hard!

I connected the pigtail wires directly to my Antigravity battery posts - both positive and negative - and have not experienced any problems in almost two years of maintaining with my CTEK.

Update on this: I decided to return the Charge-O-Mat and purchase the MXS 5.0. I thought it would be worth the gamble to go through it again in hopes for a better result. No luck at first, repeating the steps I made with the previous charger. After 30 minutes, regardless of whether I plug into the armrest or passenger footwell and regardless of whether I lock the car or not, it would revert back to its default setting assuming it loses power at that point. Then, about to fully give up and go the pigtail directly to the battery and strut tower route, I thought I'd try plugging into the outlet in the frunk. Bingo! No loss of power after 30 minutes. Success...finally! Maybe for you guys with the 16's that could never get it to work, maybe try the frunk outlet and let me know if it worked for you as well. I'm just curious at this point.
