Default Recommendation on diminished value expert?

On Thursday night was going out in my GT3 for a short ride, 22 yrs old girl was driving her friend's brand new q5 running a stop sign and hit my rear quarter panel then push me into the opposite lane and I hit the side of the other car with my front.

Luckily no one got hurt. The car was towed to the shop(the rear tire blew out but the dash didn't throw any CEL so assume rear-wheel steering and rear axle is fine?) and waiting for the insurance company to get an estimation.

Any ideas how much it will cost to repair(Sadly I don't think the insurance company will total the car). And most important thing any recommendations on diminished value lawyer or agents? I doubt the insurance company will offer me a reasonable diminished value.

Thanks ahead.

Forget to mention, I live in DMV area, don't know if I need to find a DV lawyer locally or they can work on cases across the state.

I would be very surprised if that’s not considered totaled. That quarter panel is an entire piece that’s runs from the A pillar to underneath the door. That whole piece would need to be cut out and re welded. Plus body shops are swamped right now, I doubt a high end place could even start working on it within a month. Then you factor in a “equivalent” rental car (even if you have extra cars to drive) and that cost would be 500-1000 per day.

Your car would be down for a minimum of 2 months and that’s assuming no suspension damage which is also highly unlikely.

I wouldn’t even worry about diminished value and just focus on getting the car totaled and enough compensation for a replacement.

Really appreciate your help, that's what I am trying to do right now, get the car totaled, but as I have talked to a Porsche certified shop on Friday they told me the car will get totaled only if the repair bill is more than 75% of the vehicle value with used car market now, there's a chance they will just get this fix. But anyway even if they end up fixing the car, I am not going to keep it, since I don't want to put my life at risk on the track going 130mph in a car has been damaged like this. Again, really appreciate your help.

Ironically I saw a purple GT3 RS w a similar repair and they were 85k into the “fix” at a Porsche certified collision center. It was an engine out process and a huge job.

Is it just a base optioned 3RS or with all the carbon parts PCCB, and Magnesium wheel? I think that makes huge differences.

Just check the car again today.
Things I am pretty sure need to be replaced: front bumper, PDLS+ led headlight, front left quarter panel, rear left quarter panel, rear left wheel.
Things that might need to be replaced: Driver-side door, hood, front left wheel, rear suspension.

Get a lawyer involved. They will get your car totaled and some cash. You won’t get enough in diminished value to make you whole.

I would bet that is totaled. Assuming it is totaled start compiling sale transactions for other GT3 like yours so that you can show the ins what the value of the car is. about a year ago my parents got in a accident in a 2020 G63 (most know how much over sticker those were trading at even though my father was in it for MSRP) and he got a check from ins for a bit over $200K was more than he paid for the car. in that case they did their own research and came up with the value. he was able to luckily enough have a new car built to same spec. best of luck with your situation its the risk we take enjoying driving these cars. glad everyone was ok.

Thank you for the advice, I will start collecting some recent transactions on similar spec gt3s, glad everyone is ok, I guess this is a hard lesson for her friend to learn not to give your car to someone who doesn't know how to stop at a stop sign.

I have only had to file a DMV claim once thankfully, that was a quite a few years ago in VA, I had the car appraised by a DMV adjuster and submitted that to the insurance company and it was paid in full.

Do you mind telling me which adjuster you used back then, thank you
