Converting a PDK GT RS car to MT?

Has this ever been done with a GT2?
As I have made the decision to keep my GT2 forever and (yes here it comes Shapiro) as my background is in F plane Aerospace Engineering Flight Dynamics Computer Hardware and Software, I am considering the mother of all DIY 911 projects somewhere downrange by converting my car to MT. How cool would that be? I figure that transaxle hardware would be the easy part, with the engine control unit management software being the only real challenge but something I could handle. It would in effect require a complete new standalone ECU/NCU be designed and manufactured/sourced with the current sensor software suit being reversed engineered, which would mean really getting to know the internal sensor and switching software of the GT2 but how cool would the end result be? A 6MT GT2
I figure I could do it with about 6 months of research and design and about 12 months of down time...Thoughts?

Years back I recall a Rennlister converted a .1 3RS using the 6speed from a 911R IIRC. There was a big thread on here about it. But I would think that gearbox probably couldn't handle the power of the 2RS.

I'm not up to speed on the bolt patterns required to match a 6MT transaxle to a GT2 engine but I think the torque issue would be the least of my problems. I previously owned a 997.1 TT 6MT that pulled 725 4WHP on a Dynojet 4WD dyno and it ran the stock transaxle just with a Sachs Racing clutch, so I think there are units in the Porsche parts bin that would hold up to the torque, just a matter of if they will bolt in or if custom fabrication is necessary.

it would prob have to be a custom job. maybe you could get a 997.2 TT manual box to work with a little fabrication ? not sure it could handle the torque... or if the ratios are appropriate for the engine. Best bet and probably the most expensive would be a completely custom gearbox.
or just buy a 997 gt2. their values aren't going anywhere but up.

I need to start familiarization research for the specs and part numbers for the various 6MT trans that Porsche has produced. I came from the 997 world and there it was generally accepted that for sporting street cars with some track usage (at this point I have zero desire to track my GT2, I have previously raced in a major national series on a sponsored vehicle on the big four tracks in Florida and many of the storied road race tracks on the east coast and just have no desire to just run laps while subjecting my GT2 to race like stress) the TT 6MT trans can handle up to 800 HP with really no issues, just the clutch needed upgrading up around 700 HP...the 2011 GT2 was 630 BHP with the same 6MT trans axle.

Rodeo sometimes you just have to say what’s the point. Buy a dedicated track toy much cheaper and more fun.
