I'm not writing to complain about the comp- more to educate other enthusiasts on what they offered me.
That is an interesting theory and might explain why failures seem to be more prevalent on the RS.

Thumbs up

I seem to recall the PDK in the RS is programmed to shift faster than the GT3?

I sincerely hope you get Porsche to extent the warranty to 10 years like the 991.1 so the rest of us can benefit.

Oliver....correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the Magnuson-Moss Act apply to warranties and to the degree that they are fixed by the manufacturer, whether it be a car or vacuum cleaner....How does this apply to a lawsuit in regards to your vehicle?

That's my goal here assuming there is a problem with the .2 RS shifting too fast for the lash adjustors. If there is a design issue- PCNA needs to address it. Trying to figure out how many other .2RS and .2GT3 PDK owners have full motor replacements...

Yes. Implied vs express warranty.

I didn't do this right- I don't want this discussion to be about my vehicle or comp. I'm trying to figure out how many other owners have had catastrophic engine failures to determine if a real problem does exist and if so then we can work on it being resolved.

If there is no issue- and just a handful of one-off failures- that's fine and preferred. I have now heard of 10 full motor replacements. That's a lot for a run of approx 2k cars in the US....?

If it was an issue it would be all over Rennlist by now just like the 991.1 engine.....10 out of 2000 is a half percent....

First of all that sucks and sorry you had to endure that, mental anguish is real....however the response seems fair to me. Feel like you got off easy with only a 1 month wait, they must have hustled. I would personally not have expected (nor asked for) the monthly payment either....systemic problem? Figure that would have been sorted out by now judging by the 991.1 problem.

You post on the site, and all says you were treated fairly, and may here owns or have owned every brand which speaks for experience. You wanted opinions, and you clearly don’t like them so why seek the feedback? An old boss told me feed back is the breakfast of champions, and you have to choose to listen or not. The question is what do you want. No car is perfect, and I’ve had zero issues with any Porsche. I had a 2015 GT3 that was late delivered and got 10 year warranty for a know problem and compensated and it was all good. You got a new engine and two years and 3500.00 on a 200k depreciating Being a jerk but what do you want ..............when I had my issue with my 2015 I paid cash and just wanted my car to work and enjoy they made it right.

Thx. I don't have monthly payments. I own the car outright. I asked for a 10 year warranty. They offered $3,500 as that's there estimation of what a monthly payment would be (which is irrelevant to me) plus a 2 year warranty. I don't care about $3,500- i paid $230k cash for this car. $3,500 is peanuts- I spend that on DE registration fees annually.

Dude sale the car, and you’ve asked for an option and clearly all have provided similar advise. The 2015 problem was wide spread. Many of us have paid all cash for our cars, and that makes it less important it’s a freaking car that broke.

Thanks for posting, I have an RS and was not aware of this issue. You mention 10 other cars in the US, has it been determined it was the same root cause for those other vehicles, it would be useful to have those owners contribute here.

I can understand your perspective and frustration as you've had to live through this experience, but as a third party l do think Porsche reacted fairly well, it could have been better in terms or response time but overall seems acceptable.

You’re being unreasonable. Lots of us are repeat/return Porsche customers on this board and paid cash for our cars: this isn’t uncommon. We also have much more realistic expectations as to what should occur if our machines fail. I’m not sure you’re going to find many here that will agree that Porsche’s compensation offers weren’t appropriate.
