also not wanting to start a debate of sofas vs buckets but...
I just purchased a very well equipped RS with sofas. I find the fit of the buckets to be uncomfortable and I don’t plan to track the RS much. I bought my car with less than 4K miles for a VERY substantial discount to the car you referenced on cargurus.
I was specifically looking for the sofas. If you’re ok with them, then there are bargains to be had.
i think they have essentially reached their bottom $ on low mileage cars...i finally pulled the trigger a couple months ago...16 UV big sticker...my guess is these cars will hold value and then rise after the 992 rs hits the US shores
in my research most opinions on must have options include extended fuel tank (i haven't seen one without it), FAL, PCCB, and LWB...after that is the headlight option
while i've barely driven it since its winter here, the times i have is amazing, like a video game...motor and tranny remind me of my 430 that i had for a year...fortunately the UV will make it to the track so i cant wait for that
keep hunting for the car you want, and keep reading the opinions here...this forum and most of its members are a wealth of knowledge
Have you driven a 16 RS or a 18RS?
They're not good cars to DD. There good on the track and good at a CC event.
If your in your 40s or less I suppose you might like it but older guys will just use it a small amount if not tracked.
Options to get are the EXT Tank, PCCB, Lift, PDLS lights @ LWB I know u don't want the buckets but makes it easier to sell.
There is less then 10% advantage between Gen 1 vs Gen 2. Gen 2 doesn't ride as nice on the street as Gen 1.
Both RS models are very noisy with abundance of clutch slip.
Make sure this is what you really want a 996 Turbo or 997 Turbo is also a much smaller vehicle as well.

Definitely will not be a DD. Literally a toy car and something I've always wanted and now have the means to make happen. Drove a 2011 RS a while back. I owned a 2003 996 Turbo. Loved the car. Also looking at 2018 991.2 GT3s. I think you're spot on on the options and thanks for the info on driveability, that's about what I expect.
I think I'd go with a .2 GT3. I've driven the .1 and .2 RS. Love the .2 RS it is amazing. I currently own a .2 GT3. I would rank them in this order:
1. The .2 RS, 2. The .2 GT3, 3. The .1RS
If the car is not for track use (as OP stated), what's in .2 that .1 RS does not have? You won't notice any aero improvement on streets. Stiffer suspension on .2RS is noticeable, but not a plus on backroads.
I am surprised to this day, no one has had a credible head2head comparison of 991.1 3RS vs. 991.2 3RS on the Ring, same day, same driver and on same type of tires. I doubt the true difference will be much more than 10s on a ~ 21 km track. I don't buy Porsche's marketing numbers. Recall Preuninger hinted 500 hp quoted for .1 3RS at its release was "very conservative". Even if the delta is a true 20 hp, that's only 4% at the peak.
