This should be helpful as many opinions on it’s louder rides different?? Imagination is the experience as many have different takes. Hell, I couldn’t tell the big difference in my 2016 vs 2019 RS unless I really paid attention. Draw your own conclusions.

I had a manual winged GT3 right before this one, not many differences but some are noticeable. There is more road noise with the touring (less sound deadening?) and the ride seems to be a tiny bit softer but the suspension components are the same so I can’t really explain that. The winged one had more induction noise and felt way more planted under hard braking.

Mechanically, they are the same other than the air intake system. Suspension is the same. Wing and some interior trim differences is it. Maybe a bit less sound deadening but I don’t know if that has been confirmed. Wing is the the way to go now if you don’t care about the look and/or want to save (a lot of) money as they are the same car.

Porsche is amazing, don’t order a wing or radio/AC same price with less cost. (:

I think Porsche Manual GT cars, especially the low production # of 991 Tourings, will remain in demand. Throw in PTS and they remain really in demand! Based on what i have been reading, most of the present owners find it to be the best driving experience of all the Porsche's they have owned. That is what drew me in quite frankly. I should be able to comment on the driving experience by end of next week. Can't get here fast enough ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I find it amazing that we have all these Touring owners here and yet, they don't know the technical details of their beloved car.
Porsche did their best to minimize any amount of engineering they had to do on the Touring, so hence, the Touring was offered as an appearance option instead of as a separate model. They didn't even want to make a new sticker for the Touring![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)
There are 3 differences between the GT3 Wing and GT3 Touring version:
1. Wing vs. no wing. Since the front end of the GT3 remains the same between the two version, Porsche had to add an ugly-looking gurney flap to balance the rear downforce. The touring front lower lip is the same as the wing version.
2. Rear spring is slightly softer on the Touring to compensate for the missing downforce at high speed. Front spring rate remains the same since the downforce is the same between both version.
3. Engine air intake is modified on the Touring, which causes a change in the intake sound. Sound deadening is EXACTLY THE SAME on both versions.

Even though the 991.2 Touring will go down as a classic, I’m not sure that now is the time to pay 10’s of $thousands over MSRP, PTS or not. I expect the 992 Touring will more than hold its own.
