I have a touring and have been in a winged GT3 and I agree the Touring is louder. There was an article written ( I can't seem to find it) that mentioned the intake differences and more sound deadening being pulled from the Touring. The article mentioned that the Touring is much more like the R or the 997 RS 4.0 from a sound standpoint but I've never been in those cars so I can't confirm.

I concur. Touring seems louder than any of my prior 991.x GT cars.

I have a Touring and a 991.2 RS which is definitely louder inside then the Touring.
I had a 991.2 GT3 but I can’t compare it against that as I no longer own it.
The 3RS is loader from the engine exhaust noise and road noise also.

BIG BIG congrats on the car. Look phenomenal. Pretty much the perfect spec for a GT3T IMO.

Im actually torn between a GT3T (silver of course) and GTS. Different cars for sure, but since you had both was wondering what you thought of it from a daily driver fun factor POV?

I know the GTS is the sensible choice for a DD, but I dont really care abouit what makes sense but more of whats actually more fun in the real world? The GT3 will have a more visceral feel to it im sure, but Im worried that since you cant actually use it at its true revs on the street for very long that the GTS with its low end turbo torque may actually be more fun in the real world?

Would really be greatful to hear your opinions

Enjoy!!

I've owned both a 991.2 C2S (PDK) and a 991.2 GT3T. If you're really on the fence, I highly recommend the GT3T. The 991.2 C2S (much like a GTS) is a terrific combination of luxury car and sports car. It's relatively soft, quiet and packed with nice convenience features like keyless entry/go, park sensors, access to rear seat storage, etc. But it's also pretty tame.

The GT3T delivers a sports car experience on every drive. It's noisy, LWB add so much, the gear shift is sublime and the motor is spectacular. But it still has some nice usability touches like CarPlay, back-up camera, auto wipers, etc. I understand your question about the low end torque of the GTS turbo motor and there's some truth to that. It will provide some more punch of the line. However the 991.2 GT3 motor has substantially more DD low end torque than the prior 3.8L GT3 motor. I find it excellent for road use.

If I could only own one car, I might consider a C2S or GTS. But I still think I'd choose to put up with the minor inconveniences of the GT3T because of all it brings. The GT3T is an exceptional car. I'm anxiously awaiting the 992 to see how they can improve on an already amazing package.

Good point, I had a 991.2 C2S with spasm/pdcc/sport pkg/sunroof delete and was super competent, fun to drive but not raw enough... traded for GT3.2RS which is awesome but obviously not a daily driver if you are honest with yourself for above reasons (too noisy/rough)
Part of the fun of 911 is as daily and experiencing in different conditions and accumulating miles, you just have to pick the point on spectrum, the Touring is going to feel extremely special, perhaps too special to DD when resale values are great and experience of it as daily is not optimal comfort/noise mix...
Tried to get back into a 991.2C2S as added daily but after test driving again decided to go with a 991.1TT, very happy with decision.. 3.8LiterTT is an excellent daily and packs a punch and feels special, nice complement to raw 3RS
If only one car, would got with GT-series (Touring) car and drive a beater as DD

I had a 991.2 C2 GTS that I ordered and now have a GT3T. My GTS had PCCB, no sunroof, and manual gearbox. I really enjoyed the GTS and the torque is great! I didn’t like the 7-speed and I don’t mind driving around in higher rpms. For what I’m looking for, GT3T is much more in the sweet spot (sound, transmission, the excitement of using the revs, the suspension).

It definitely depends on what you prioritize or value though. If WOT at lower rpm and getting strong acceleration is of great importance, GTS is definitely worth considering. Quieter, softer, more features too.

Default Jumped in as well-GT3 Touring-Olive Green

Traded my Targa4s in Viper Green for the below 18 GT3 Touring in Olive Green. Will post more pics when I take delivery late next week. I have been fortunate to pick up some amazing cars in my lifetime. I have a feeling that this may be the best driver of them all. This car can't get to me fast enough Continued good health to all on here!
