Hello guys.
I'm looking for some advice. I have my eyes on a 1st Gen 3RS. Do you think this is a good idea to get into one right now with the newer versions getting closer to release? It's basically a brand new car. If anything I wish I could get the .2 3RS with the NACA ducts hood and put it on this car and it would be perfect I feel.

The 992 3RS is still probably 1-2 years away. 992 GT3 non RS will probably be officially revealed early next year, but I don’t think that will hurt the value of any of the 991 RS’s too much. 🤞🏻

Personally, I think the 991.1 is a fine car own’d both 991.1 and 991.2. Newer version has some step function improvements, and if you’re a track rat you will like either car. Some good deals on 991.2’s and it’s all about the delta you’re comfortable with choosing between the two. Wouldn’t get hung up on a 992 it’s not here, and you can enjoy it so buy what you can enjoy. Good luck.

.1 has already taken most of its depreciation. If you are dead set on a 992 then thats the one i'd pick. especially if this is mostly a street car as the .1 suspension is a bit more forgiving than the .2.

991.1 is a excellent car the 991.2 is about 5% better but commands a 15% higher purchase price.
A good driver in a .1 will beat a average driver in a .2.
Both car's are excellent track cars I would not purchase either for street driving.
Best of Luck

The .2 offers a few more years of warranty and has some improvements. .1 is a great machine and can be had at a better price. Perhaps some .1 owners put theirs on the market with the 992s coming so perhaps more supply may soften prices a bit and never hurts to step into a depreciated vehicle vs. taking more of the hit up front.

Buy drive and enjoy it now. Next RS will be more expensive too. 991.1RS may come down a bit more, but not enough to wait. You'll never avoid all depreciation.
