Default 991.1 GT3 cold weather tires in 315/35 rear?

I have an extra set of stock wheels and would like to pick up a set of Alpins for cold weather use as the Cup 2s don't like the cold as we all know. The dealer is recommending the 315/35s rather than the 295/30s... has anyone here run them? Thoughts on fitment, etc?

Thank you,
John

Generally with snow tires you go with a narrower tire, not wider.

understood, however, they are claiming the 315/35s fit the 12 rears more appropriately... less stretched. also, no plans to drive in snow so the width would not be a disadvantage.

The width does fit the rim better, but the overall diameter will grow, affecting gearing, ABS, and other electric systems.
