Default 991.1 Carbon Upgrades

Need some advice.

I have a 2016 .1 GT3RS

I want to order the following parts in Carbon Fibre:

Rear Engine Cover (but in .2 Style - with the larger 3rd brake light)
Side Air Intakes (but in .2 Style)
Front Fender Louvers (but in .2 Style)
Mirror Triangles (Awe Style, so the wind buffeting noise is eliminated)
Wing End Plates (but in .2 Style)

I looked at places like Wicked Motor Works, but they are sooo expensive.
I know i could go OEM route, but that is also rather costly.

Salter Aero have the wing end plates which are decent price. But are there any other places out there i am missing? Advice please!

Thanks!

Check DB Carbon. They do overlays but the fit and finish like OEM

Also - Techart

Unfortunately there isn't low cost option here for carbon parts... nor should you want one. I'd personally go with as much OEM as possible but make sure that the carbon fiber weave on any aftermarket parts are the exact same as OEM. I've seen some carbon mods with a slightly different weave/pattern than OEM which would drive me nuts.

FYI the front louver swap is not easy, you'll need to remove your front fenders to update as the .1 louvers are glued/molded in vs the .2 which are more easily replaced. Serious labor cost there but if you go ahead make sure you use someone that knows what they are doing.

I went with TechArt in a matte finish. Matches OEM weave. No issues. Perfect fit and finish.

You probably don't want to go with OEM components anyway. At least on the 997's they delaminate. I am planning to order from DB Carbon later this year.

Ok, so i just order from Salter Aero Wing End plates in carbon, and the Mirror triangles.

I think i am leaning towards TechArt items from the Engine Cover, Side Air Intakes & Front Fender Louvers.
There is a place called TAG Motors thats sells them
They seem to be quite reasonable priced.

Any other suggestions?

I have been told the TechArt items are just carbon overlaid on OEM parts.
Can anyone else confirm this?
Thank you

Okay, just ordered the engine / trunk cover from SForza.

Steps closer! Getting there!

Last parts to order are the fender louvers and air intakes.

DB Carbon was my choice. Though they wont be ready to ship until start of November.

I just emailed TAG motors to see if they have these parts in stock. Waiting their reply.

Are there any forum discounts that anyone is aware of for any of these vendors?

Thanks again guys!

You can let them know you are a Rennlist member and they will give you some percentage off but you should be a Member

I ordered a bunch of DB Carbon parts earlier this year for my 991.2 RS (basically every black plastic exterior piece). I'm waiting for driving season to end before i have them installed (car is too good to not drive it while the weather is nice).

I've been very happy with the quality of all the DB Carbon pieces.

On the other hand, I bought some Techart side intakes and while they look good on the car, I don't think the build quality is as good as the DB Carbon. The DB Carbons are bonded directly to the core part to make one seamless piece, but the Techart ones look like two separate pieces that are held together somehow. I didn't investigate to find out exactly how they are held together, because I didn't want to accidentally break them apart, but they are definitely not as well done as the DB Carbon ones.

I can't speak for all the Techart pieces, maybe some others are better, but I've been happy with every DB carbon piece I bought.

One word of advise, get PPF on them. My Techart side intakes are beaten up pretty bad. The stock black plastic pieces hold up much better to rocks, but the edge of my Techart side intakes are all chipped up. I plan to have Xpel put on every piece and will probably even have them double up on the parts that are especially vulnerable to rocks.
