Dealer tire/wheel warranty?
I’m curious about thoughts from listers. I bought a 991.1 GT3 and the dealer is offering a tire/wheel warranty for $2700.
Normally I would not consider any warranties of this type, but on the GT3 (all Porsche’s?) a nail in a tire = new tire and a bent wheel also = new replacement wheel, as I am told neither can be repaired. If true, that can add up over 5 years.
If worth considering, what would you recommend paying/offering for the warranty?

I paid $1500 here for 3 years. We have some not so perfect roads on my commute. With any tire/wheel issue I generally would go to the dealer as it’s easier with the center locks. The dealer won’t repair any tire and generally insists on replacement. I thought the $1500 was worth it as even if I got a nail in an easy location I’d be asked to pay for full tire replacement. So far in 1 1/2 years I have had one rear tire replaced (at a cost of $500) done under warranty. For me it’s worth the peace of mind especially given our roads.

I got it for my 3RS also cost $2500 but haven't had any tire wheel issues, owing partly to being careful and also low miles (3500mi). I was second guessing buying it, but honestly very few tire places if any can handle centerlock and or large 21" wheels carefully without scratches etc. so get it for peace of mind and convenience. Likely you may not need it...

There’s lot’s of debate here on this. My 2019 RS was 1900 for 5 years, and just traded the car and the remainder was refunded. Didn’t buy on Speedster as driving is far less aggressive.

I would not buy it. Especially if It’s not your daily driver and it sees limited miles.
Also tires can be patched just like any other tire and wheels can be repaired just like any other wheel.

That's marked up at least 100% so the dealer price is $11-1300. That price range is more in line with what you should pay. <=1500 max for the 7 year plan.
If you get the Porsche branded wheel/tire, note a couple benefits.
1) The tires are never repaired, only replaced.
2) It covers aftermarket wheels (yes, pick a set, any set.....almost any set....)
3) it does not cover Mag or CF wheels, OE or aftermarket

On my 2015 cayman gts, dealer charged me $2900 for 5 years and I said yes at them moment, but after checking online realized that was too high and got 95% back after refund. On my gt3 I bought last weekend it was $1950 for 5 years from Porsche and this time said yea and will keep it for a bit. Is one thing to self insure 5 lug wheels, another for these centerlocks monsters. And hard pressed to want anything other than Oem.
