Yes 1948 made so you’re good there, and may be a deal what can PCNA do to compensate vs turn the car into a science project. I wouldn’t do a buy back unless you find another car you want. Only you can decide what’s acceptable. Good luck.

I wouldn’t expect tape lines on any factory painted component.

Sorry for your troubles but I think you are getting the right direction re: live with it or buyback for reasons mentioned by 3-pedals and others.

That being said my 3rs has very good paint overall except for some dimpling in the clear coat on the rear carbon fiber wing which I have chosen to live with for fear of color matching by a refinisher not being right.

I do my own paint correction and I disagree the 3RS does not have very good paint.
My 997 TTS had a good Basalt BLK paint my 2011 RS has OK paint.
The 2016 UV GT3RS took many hours of correction.
I notice a poor finish around the battery and brake reservoir on the latest Porsche.

PTS isn't worth $13K, I once heard Porsche was farming out PTS back in 2018

The side view mirrors on my PTS light ivory GT3 Touring came from the factory with thin paint. This was picked up during the paint correction by Moe and his team at Glistening Perfection. It cost me $500 to address the issue before I had even driven the car. Porsche "paid" for it by giving me a $500 gift card to cover the cost of re-painting the mirror housings. $13,000 for that kind of QC? #lame

I think it comes down to if you love the car you can live with it, but only if a true explanation is given along with compensation/repair, as with paint work, when new and more so a decade later there is always the unknown that is worrisome to the buyer as in my case now or potential buyer, as without true 100% documentation the "unknown" factor will shy people away from the car as there is never a true beginning to end explanation.

If PCNA & Dealer are lying/denying and trying to jerk you around to make you go away and wear you down, by not offering to fix it that adds more insult, if they are telling you its normal quality that adds to insult. PTS cars are ordered by color name, should we call this Irish green or Poison ivy? Selling dealer in West Broward should step up here if MFG does not as they sold the car as OEM unaltered. They may have been aware of the issue or possibly not but hard to believe, they do a very through inspection when these cars arrive. My first hand wash of the car had a chalky like substance running down the bumper which was apparently the polishing compound from the repair, that the parties say never happened.

I see several of you have had some paint quality issues, but in my case there are 7 different areas on the same panel, two different colors of green, most would believe this is an inferior repair not poor quality control at the factory. How would the factory spray two different colors on the same panel, why would they tape off the lines, how would they spray a dark green circle, would they really leave tape lines with overspray. Sure one or the other may happen, but when you look at the details collectively it was a sloppy quick repair either at the dealer or port most likely.

But as of last week this is the position of PCNA, this should be a small CSI matter for them perplexing really that they wont admit to the repair and or make it right. The issue will follow the car, I Cant speak for most but I am no hedge fund baby, work hard for the things I have. To Porsche this should really equate to pennies. A sad position they have taken IMO.

Its a post factory repair. Have it redone by the best shop you know and argue with PCNA later.

FWIW the PTS cars that I have been involved with generally have better finish than standard colors, thats anecdotal at best, but get that bumper redone so you can continue satisfied ownership of a great car.

That car was stripped and over priced they lowered it by 40k after I backed out of the deal thats all I wanted them to do was come closer to the market value. They would have had the sale at a higher margin if not for greed.
Nonetheless a bit off topic. Car dealers will be car dealers

40k? The last number you had under your old user name was a 26k difference. Selling price was high 340s. They sold it for 319. exaggerate much?

And why did you start a new RL ID?

BTW, the butt dimples are a common occurrence on the 991.2.

We paint correct and clear bra A LOT of 911s...I’m skeptical this is from the factory.

As more and more high-end manufacturers are pumping out more cars, quality is going down a bit. But Porsche is still one of the manufacturers that has strict quality control and pictures above are out of character.
